Mach 1 or Dark Horse

Try owning a lowly Ecoboost. We barely exist in "that guy's" mind. And if they happen to think of us it's with derision.

As a person who though my 3.1 Liter Chevy Beretta with a 5-sp manual (as a 19 year old) was the bomb until a Camaro with a 5.0 V8 ate my lunch; I’m over being that guy because I never ascended that high when it mattered.

Fact is Mach 1 spoilers and front bumpers sale plenty without collisions…

Dude…I was in the E Charger. It is an absolute animal. The sound they added is wild. They did rides at Barrett Jackson. I don’t want one, but it is the fastest car I’ve ever been in. FWIW.

I don't doubt it rips but I'm not an electric vehicle kind of guy. I did like the straight line power of my Scat Pack and it's V8 sound, the sound is something that an electric vehicle just isn't going to quite match in my opinion.

So, true story, I pulled into a buddy's condo complex in my Mach 1 with the exhaust mode in "track." A resident is walking by and I said "oh, sorry man about the noise with my car." The guy replies, "no problem, I drive a Mustang too." He then gets into a Mustang Mach E and SILENTLY drives away

What else are they supposed to do?
It's like when two adults have fun together, but the other one doesn't make any noises, no matter how hard you try, so something would be missing, it is at least not engaging, perhaps even boring.
The problem is, if the partner makes fake noises to pretend something, it may be even worse.
I think it is clear what I mean...

That was a great analogy and pretty damn funny too. What isn’t so funny is the fact that I’m hoping my neck recovers from that torque jolt I received from the damn thing.
Admirable, maybe even incredible performance.. but too much for me. It’s like a sledgehammer where the Mach 1 has so many other qualities beyond straight power.

I’m on my 2nd Mach 1. The 1st was without the Handling Package and cloth seats. I was looking at buying a Dark Horse.

1. The price with the HP was about $70,xxx.
2. The computer is locked.
3. The DH does outperform the Mach 1 by enough for the price increase.
4. Look like the new rear brakes are too big for a 17’s wheel for drag radials.

I did love the new screens and interior. Plus, the color of the one I took the picture of is exactly the one I would get.

What makes the Dark Horse faster than the Mach 1. I do have a Mach 1. I'm very interested in that.

It looks like more hp and new tech helped it but that can be undone by a tune on the Mach 1 that the dh cannot do. People in these forums seem to think they are pro drivers where they are so good that they have to buy the car with a few seconds in difference even though I would say the overwhelming majority cannot duplicate the times. I mean in Car and Driver the Mach 1 received 2:51.4 while the dark horse received 2:51.2, and the GT350R received 2:51.8 in the Lightning Lap. Who here can duplicate the times?

It's definitely splitting hairs. I guess it really doesn't matter for street.

I certainly cannot duplicate the times. Plus, short of going to a track (which I don't), I can't even use all of the 470 horsepower that I currently have in my M1. Aside from occasional safe yet semi spirited driving, there's generally too many danged people on the road most of the time, so I just cruise and enjoy as I mosey along. So, spending DH or DH HP money for 30 additional horsepower that I won't use makes me like my M1 even more.

My wife is currently debating on which Mustang she wants. It's between three models. A white Mach 1, white Dark Horse, or a Bullitt in green which will match her red hair and green eyes real nicely. I told her if the Bullitt green she'll be wearing red plaid skirts from here out. Da law is da law, and I is da law in these here parts. Wife just suggests things, and I approve them. I really don't care for many S650 colors of 25. Just a few.

I had to register my 350 at the local DMV. They had to inspect it for god knows what ($). The lady came out and told me to pop the hood. She spent a couple minutes looking around, then asked me if it was gas or electric. Rather than belittling her I merely responded that “it is gas, Ma’am”. Then she had to go and make a comment about the color; “Boy, it sure is orange”. I just kinda played along and told her yes, it’s pretty brightly colored. She had to then go and put a nail in her own coffin. She asks, “You gonna leave it that way?” Pretty sure my glare spoke volumes. She stopped talking.
