Got my '20 GT Premium A10 last week. Going to be a DD so it'll stay mostly stock. Picked up an x-pipe to do a res delete and that'll probably be it for now.

What is with the 301A/401A folks have in their sigs around here?

What's the difference in a PP1/2/3?

Whats the best way to drive the car at the drag strip? I've gotten conflicting opinions in my YT searches.

So far I'm loving this car.

301A is the "deluxe" interior for the base models, 401A is for the Premium.
IIRC, PP1 adds a front lip with a different undertray, larger radiator, additional bracing, different springs and sway bars, 6-piston Brembo front brakes with larger rotors, staggered wider 19" wheels and tires, and a Torsen differential with different ratios. PP2 includes all of the above plus Magneride, stiffer suspension, extra front lip and even wider wheels and tires. I haven't heard of a PP3.
Can't help at all with your drag racing question.

I think 301A gives me a bigger touchscreen than the standard one, and a Sirius XM antenna (that I'm not using). The adjustable lumbar support on my driver's seat might also be a 301A feature.

I wanted a PP1 for the bigger brakes, mostly in case I take it to a track day and run laps.
I had forgotten about the radiator. Since I have a manual transmission, PP1 made the difference between a 3.55 rear end and 3.727. The Torsen limited-slip looks much more important than the slight change in gear ratio.

There are a couple of alignment parameters which are different for my GT/PP coupe.

...But I can't remember what was actually adjustable, from the factory.

PP2 gets yet another set of alignment specs.

(I basically look at all these alignment specs as options. When my Mustang needs an alignment again one day, I think I'll use Mach 1 street specs.)

I can't help with drag racing advice either, but there are probably threads for that
just as I've looked at threads about autocross, track days, and road racing.

I do know my car can get squirrelly in 2nd gear, with the traction control on.

I appreciate the replies.

How can I tell if I have a 301 or 401? VIN?

I believe 401a has all leather seats vs cloth for 301a.

I appreciate that.

However I didn't see a 301 or 401 anywhere in that guide.
It's in there, check the column headers as you scroll. You'll see 100/101 and up.

300 is a base GT with cloth seats, a calculator screen, no mycolor, and the base 6-speaker system.
301 is a base GT with cloth seats, the premium dash with larger 8 In. Sync 3 screen, mycolor, and the upgraded 9-speaker system.
400 is a GT premium with leather heated/cooled seats, the premium 8 In. dash, mycolor, and 9-speaker system.
401 is a GT premium with everything in 400 plus heated steering wheel, digital instrument panel, memory seats, upgraded leather seats, and color matched trim stitching.

Thank you! That clears things up some.

Based on that mine's a 400.

Are the upgraded seats on the 401 the factory Recaros I've seen in a few or is that a different option?

No, the upgraded seats for 401 are different from the Recaros. I think the Recaros were only available as an option for all trim levels.

Can you imagine what it would be like with TC off?

I plan to see for myself, one day.
...But not on a public road. 😇

I kinda have to wonder, though...
My 1992 Nissan can also spin both tires (OS Giken limited-slip) and stays straight while doing it.
What's up with the Mustang that makes it try to fishtail in 2nd gear?
2nd gear is pretty tall, and is good for 78mph.

It's not the Torsen LSD, is it?

Have to remember that the Nissan probably had much skinnier tires and the car weighed a LOT less so less mass to keep straight (and less HP). Can you imagine how fast the tires on your GT is spinning compared to the Nissan's tires; you can spin tires say 20 mph while the car is going 10 mph so tires are spinning twice the speed; but the Mustang could be going 20 mph and the tires are spinning at 60 mph; I"m sure that counts for something. If yours is a base GT then it does not have the Torsen.
