why have these everyday 4s tires for the same price when the car isnt used that way.
This exact same argument could be said about Cup2's.
Why have track-oriented tires when the car isn't used that way?

I don't understand the 'tires for looks' thing. Sure they might have a different tread pattern but really a tire looks like a tire 🤷‍♂️

Personally, if I had a car purely for street-driving fun, I'd go higher tread wear so it's easier to kick the back end out. I'd powerslide every corner I could. Something like 400-500tw or so.

You're able to take criticism and keep a positive attitude very well. I'll give you that.

Yup you can argue it both ways. I think tires are huge. Like when f1 switched to grooved tires back in the day and everybody hated it. Slicks look way better..now nobody complains. The 4s isn't ugly at all. But the cup2 just has a bit more aggressive look like that i like 🤷‍♂️

Ive been called worse lol. Life isnt that serious. Opinions come and go 👍

Your car is not going to explode if you put Cups on it and drive. Use common sense and drive around the limitations that they have and it will be fine. There's bunch of cars that come with these tires from factory and they are fine.

Is this a good sensible choice? Not at all. Can they be used daily in proper temp/weather conditions? For sure.

Just keep in mind that as they age, they will harden and get worse.

Yes i thought about the rocks not sure how bad it is, thats why i was looking for opinions.

The cup2 have the big blocks on the side so it almost looks like a slick and the outside grooves dont come over the sidewall of the tire, where as the 4s has smaller blocks and grooves that come over the sidewall of the tire, plus the graphics look a bit better on the sidewall.

My car is 2018 so it came with super sports and the old suspension set up so it tramlines like crazy, doesn't bother me much i kinda like how it makes me drive the car more. Not a daily so not looking for comfort.

Are you looking at the tires when you are driving? Go with the 4s’s or even Michelin Super Sports.

Yeh but what about when you look back at the car when your walking away lol

Super sports would be perfect, thats whats on the car now and i like everything about them. But they dont make 315/30 20. Same with the supercar 3.

You're a single parent. Reduce your risk tolerance. Why is this even a question?

No. Why does that matter? Your kid is reliant on you, so why add riskier tires simply for looks?

I didnt mean it like that. You have a thought in your head when it happens. Slow down, be safe, in everything you do like your saying. But the guy that loves to rev it up to 4 grand pop the clutch and runs street slicks on his terminator still lives in there. Honestly there comes a point where you decide if your going to be this safe scared man. Or go out and still be who you are, while still being safer than usual. No more clutch drops lol. This is a bigger statement than this tire convo but it comes into play in my mind. You can do everything perfectly and make every good sensible decision and still be a single parent. Just my opinion though lol

Im getting some new wheels and tires and deciding between Michelin 4s or Cup 2s. I love the way the cup 2s look over the 4s by a mile.
I dont track the car and dont drive in the rain on purpose and maybe put 500 miles a year.

Are the cup2s ok if i get caught in the rain? Anybody have any experience with this.

Also the car sits quite a bit. Do the cup2s have a bigger tendency to crack while sitting?

Im not too worried about noise or traction feel. Just want the cup2s for the look.

Any thoughts?
Go with the 4S's. C2's are great for warm, dry tracking. Otherwise 4S's are the way to go. Better tread life, better in the rain.
