2022 Mustang GT 3rd gear question

2022 Mustang GT Premium Manual. Shifting from 2nd into 3rd, if i'm over 5000 rpm it makes a slight crunch sound. None of the other gears make the noise regardless of RPM. I've heard that the stock transmission isn't the strongest, but is that the clutch or would it be the synchros making that noise? I have basically stopped shifting over 4500 RPM from 2nd into 3rd. Is this doing serious permanent damage? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Woody

In my experience, the MT82 is a weak POS. Others have a better opinion of it. I can tell you that if you don't have the clutch pedal fully depressed, it will not fully disengage and a quick shift at high RPM can overpower the weak synchros in these Chinese built transmissions.

Sore subject. Bad experiences from multiple dealers and a lot of un-necessary money spent. Wasn't until after the warranty was up that I had an independent tranny shop overhaul it. The worn-out and broken parts should have been taken care of under the OEM warranty but 3 dealers told me "It's fine" "It's normal" and "They all do that". Maybe I just got bad one.

how many miles on the transmission? I had an FR-S that had a particularly crunchy 3rd gear shift but honest to god after 40k miles and a couple gearbox fluid changes (motul) it got a lot smoother.
