What’s the benefits (beyond strut tower brace) of centri? How’s power delivery? How’s pricing? What kind of power with how much boost? Talk to me Goose
I would ask to research the differences for their are quite a few threads on that subject. But for me, I wanted instant throttle response and TQ/HP from Idle. Turbo/Centris do not have instant throttle response from Idle on. But that has generated some issues for me and that is at 900whp area the hit is so abrupt and not linier with the gas pedal. That is why for me, I have installed a smoothboost electronic boost valve which moves in conjunction with the pedal position. But, I have not taken to dyno yet to verify "IF" it works as they claim. AND, PD are harder on power trains, transmission ETC. Something to think about and kind know what your HP end game will be and the appropriate mods necessary/recommend for that level. Good Luck

Not the best direct comparison because they use a Roush 2650 instead of a VMP/Edelbrock or a Whipple, but this covers most of it

Very interesting, thanks for posting

I was able to clear a Whipple Gen 4 with heavy duty spacers. Clears the hood and doesn’t touch the brace under WOT. Not sure how a Gen 5 would fair, it’s a bit wide.

I’m blanking on the manufacturer at the moment, but there are aftermarket motor mounts out there that will provide clearance for a strut brace. It’s in one of the FI threads somewhere, I just don’t remember which one. A quick search in the forum for motor mounts should bring those threads up.

Steeda adjustable heavy duty engine mounts. I probably should have mentioned I use those as well to make it work 😄

I am going to stick with supercharger, I’ve thought about it quite a bit and in my head turbos are for Hondas and blowers are for American muscle. I know it’s stupid and outdated etc etc, but that’s how I feel. I want a supercharger whine with this car…
You're allowed to feel however you want. It's your car. Keep us posted

Does anyone have a Whipple installed with a strut tower brace? I have the FP one and am in the middle of deciding which supercharger to get. As stupid as it is, I don’t want to get rid of my strut tower brace. I’ve heard that a bit of shims and I can get it to clear the brace, but maybe hood clearance is an issue? I have an aftermarket hood so it should be ok? Any thoughts?
If you look at my vehicle, you will see that I have a strut tower brace, that Steeda manufactures, on my 2022 Mach 1 with a Whipple. I am not sure what hood you have, but you can check with Steeda if they make a strut tower brace for your setup.

sounds to me like you would love a centri with straight cut gears, easy install, linear powerband, and keep your strut brace!

you can hear the whistle all the way up to about 4500rpm, but then your shit eating grin is too loud to hear it anymore…and I just tell everyone at the gas station that I have a bad alternator bearing 😬

Ditto, one of the finest looking Mach 1's I've seen. Are the hood pins mounted to the radiator brackets?

I thought it looked familiar… You’re a lucky man, congrats on the car.
Thanks. I wish I could drive it more. It’s a garage queen for now, with only 1086 miles on it.
