Getting to the point in the build I'm going to need some shocks. I hear kelltrac stuff is great from some people and that it's a gimmick from others. I am on the fence between the inverted kelltrac vikings or just some viking crusader rear shocks. What do most people recommend for a street/drag car that will live around 800-1000rwhp? I appreciate all the info o get here. I know i ask a lot of questions.

Ultra Spec Inverted give you more clearance from the axle dust boots. Non-inverted shocks are close to the boots and there is a risk of rubbing through them.

Another vote for Kelly at Kelltrac. Guy knows his stuff.

Devon, happy to put you in contact with our build team if you want a 3rd opinion - we have had great on-track success with our coilovers & other spring/shock combos.

Send me your contact info to tim@steeda before you make a decent-sized investment - happy to help.

Best,

TJ

Do you think it's worth spending the extra money for the triple adjustable kelltrac ones?

I think that the double adjustable would give you plenty of options for dialing in your rear suspension. Triple adjustable may be a little better, but may be a bit more difficult to dial in.

Depends on what you are ultimately looking to accomplish & what you will be adding down the road - forums are hard to get the whole story & make a full recommendation.

I'm just trying to get my car to go 9.50ish and be able to drive it whenever I want.

I will be adding front coilovers eventually, built transmission, built shortblock and other random suspension stuff

I've been 1.22 60ft with a 305/45-17 radial with off the shelf crusaders. Maybe I could be quicker with keltrac, idk. 1.22 is almost at the limit of what I can do power wise....

What kind of power are you making to get you there?
