I know full well. Buy them now before the tariffs kick in. They are made in Canada.I'm hoping it's true lol. They are expensive
Well, cats are mandatory in California and cops are supposed to enforce the laws. On top of that the Leo only gave a warning instead of of a ticket and flagging it to CarbWow, a cop that has time to smell your exhaust must not be much of a crime fighter. There are real bad guys out there and he’s decided your car is killing the environment. Thank goodness we have him on duty.
I ordered mine from my buddy's performance shop. It took 2 months to get them and they are made 2 hours away from my house. He had to jump through some hopes to get them for me.Whats crazy is i was able to get the cat delete pipes shipped to my house in cali, but i had to have my catch can shipped to another state to have my brother send it to me. Took me trying to buy the gesi cats from 6 different websites before I found one that would ship to california as well.
Ya that was my plan until I got pulled over. I'm just tired of being stressed out every time I go into town. If these cats fail I will just go back to catless and hope I don't get caught. I hate this state. I already pay insane taxes. They just need to leave us alone.Whenever I smog my car I have to put everything back to stock or carb compliant. My last smog shop, they actually checked my cats with a flashlight and inspection mirror to make sure they were stock, guy was an asshole since I had a carb compliant supercharger kit. I would just try to quiet it down, your cop could have lied and just said it was the smell.
I wouldn't want to buy another set of cats if I was swapping back to stock cats every smog check already. I'd personally ride it out until you need to smog it or state ref then go back to all stock
As a retired cop I always love the argument of don’t you have more important things to do. Cops driving around rarely if ever stumble upon a crime, let alone a serious crime in progress. Most times a victim or witness ( and others) alert the police to crimes in progress. Having said that he’s driving around for visibility and supposedly smells something he suspects is illegal. Reasonable suspicion to make a traffic stop. Then he gives the guy a break, everybody’s happy. The end.Wow, a cop that has time to smell your exhaust must not be much of a crime fighter. Devon, I am sorry my snide comment took away from your topic and I hope you can get the help you need. I apologize as I did not contribute to a solution for you.As a retired cop I always love the argument of don’t you have more important things to do. That sucks. The company i just ordered through created my tracking number already. Hopefully they get here soon. My return fuel system arrived yesterday and i want to be on at least e-50 before putting the gesi cats on. Will probably be easier on them. I have never installed a fuel system, but if I could figure out whipple and oil pump gears i should be able to get it done. Hate wiring though.I ordered mine from my buddy's performance shop. I did a whole write up on how I did the install in a boosted and failed cats post. Being in Canada adds an extra layer of BS. I live near the border so I can send stuff to a mailbox I have in Niagara Falls New York, but then I have exchange and taxes to deal with. That sucks. I tried to buy the MAK kit bit they didn't seem willing to answer some simple question so I did it the hard way by splicing the cats into a cables 2M set up. Since you already have the 2M kit installed, I assume you added the flange on the drivers side. That's half the battle.
I'm lucky I have a friend with a shop that did some minor corrections and tig welding after I tacked everything and built a fixture to line everything up.
True, but still a giant pain in the ass, and now OP has to worry if he'll continually get popped by this one police officer who remembers him.OP would have just had to swap the stock cats back on since he has the 2M cat delete kit
OK lets try this...Here is my spiced in Gensi cats with the 2m cat delete pipes
