So I got pulled over in my whipple mustang for not having catalytic converters and got let off with a warning. Just ordered the gesi gen 2 UHO catalytic converters. Anyone have any advice for keeping them alive? They are rather for 850hp per bank and I just received my fuel system and plan to be around 750-800whp on e85.

Could have got 2M cat deletes, then you can swap them out every 2 yrs for smog. My shop said even 400 cell ones aren't guaranteed to pass emissions in VA.

I have the 2m cat deletes. I'm more worried about getting state reffed. If that cop wanted to he could have had me go to CARB and get inspected. When I have to smog I'll put stock cats back on.

I live over in Sonoma and just curious how the cop knew you did not have cats? No way he could know that to initiate a car stop. Wondering what his probable cause to stop you was. Is your car absurdly loud? How did he determine you did not have them? I’m interested to know how that went down. Also, wondering how many E85 stations you have over in Vacaville since I think we only have one in my entire county that sells it. Seems pretty limiting on where you can get fuel.

He smelled it at a stop light when i was heading to the gym lol. We have quite a few e85 stations here. I have 2 stations 10mins from my house. It's just not worth getting state reffed when I drive it all the time in town. Hoping I can keep these cats alive.

Another future option would be the GT500 cats, if you can find someone that removed theirs. They’re made to hold up to the higher HP the GT500 makes. I don’t have experience with the gesi cats but have heard good things. Good luck.

Wow, a cop that has time to smell your exhaust must not be much of a crime fighter. There are real bad guys out there and he’s decided your car is killing the environment. Thank goodness we have him on duty.

I was either going to try the gt500 cats or the gesi ones. Just heard the gen 2 gesi ones have a better chance at higher horsepower. We will see if guess.

The only obvious solution is to move.
In a few years that's the plan. Want to keep my baby close to her grandparents for now.

They say they are good for 850hp each so 1700hp. If this is true, you should be fine.
