Wow, auto locking doors are on 99% of new vehicles these days. He wants to lock his own doors, but it's too much of a hassle to unlock them while sitting in the car?

Sorry don't mean to troll, but this post made me scratch my head.

And my "harsh" comments get deleted? A majority of the "issues" people have can be solved by reading via Internet or the owners manual.

And most new cars outline an easy method to disable the feature. As I say, the existing methods didn't seem to work for me, so I thought I'd ask the question on this forum because in my experience if I experience an issue with my car someone else is guaranteed to have experienced it before and perhaps posted about it.

I can count on one hand the number of times I've been motivated to lock my own doors while on the move...but people have to get in and out of my car several times a day every day. So, for me, yes it's an issue.

I don't have my Mustang yet (hopefully today but definitely by tomorrow) But according to the manual you can disable it in the information display:

Autounlock.webp

On my 2014 Explorer I go to Settings (In the Information Display) then Vehicle then Locks and uncheck Autolock.

Everybody has their own experiences. For me, having aggressive panhandlers pull my door open is a much greater concern than having to hit the unlock button to let people in (and I always get out of the car and open the door for people I'm picking up anyway since that's the gentlemanly thing to do).

Notwithstanding what the manual says, this is what my car gives me for choices:

Have anyone had success with the video?

I've argued with the dealer as well as Ford CSR about this since I received the car in January. Still no solution. So annoying!

Unfortunately, the manual is wrong. There is no "Autolock" selection in the menus to enable or disable.

I think everyone get "autolock" by default unless there is a secret way to disable it. See my thread wondering the same thing.

Guess anyone will find anything to complain about on thier car.

Why not just leave these senseless niggles alone and enjoy the car? Jeez.

This applies to a Ford Truck, but it is worth a try: RTFM= Read the Ford Manual :)
