VA killing my license plates man!

Delaware has suspended issuing vanity tags eariler this year due to a lawsuit. They had issued a tag and then later wanted it recalled as they didn't think is was appropriate. The woman sued the state and won her case under free speach, so the state is now not sure what to do with future tag applications.

Back in the '80s, when I lived in California I got by the "censors" with BUT AKE on a Corvette which was truly a PITA...still have the tag hanging in my garage.

Given it’s love for personal freedom, Georgia is shockingly draconian in what it will and will not allow. They won’t tell you why you were rejected, you’re left to guess. And now at the local level they’re actually asking you to verbally explain to them what it means. I was recently turned down for a plate that contained the man’s name “RIP”, but was approved by shortening it to “RP”. The clerk guessed that perhaps it was a death reference.

And be aware that if you do sneak one by they will likely eventually catch it, perhaps from a meddlesome Karen call-in. At that point they will dispatch a revenue agent to visit you and physically remove the offending plate.

To be totally fair....I can understand to a degree why my personal plates get rejected. Currently at 6 rejections.

I had the same thought. If a person had submitted all those I would have question what really was the intent of his/her multiple vanity license plate choices.
