Thread resurrection. I don't understand how this system has completely fallen off the radar until now... price, sound (reasonable level, no drone), quality (304 stianless)... It's almost like being a sponsor is the only way to get talked about in the forum, heh.

So who else has this system, anyone have it on an 18-23 and anyone have the new/updated version of the system (they changed the resonators)?

Thermal has made great exhaust systems for years. I had one on a gen2 Eagle Talon TSI way back in the day. I have the 2.5" kit on my Explorer ST. It sounds perfect. The power increase? I think that may be due to you wanting to hear the exhaust and pressing the gas pedal down a bit more.

I saw one of their videos where they claimed a 25hp gain on the dyno. That seems like an insane gain. I'd be totally stoked for a 10hp proven dyno gain....

I had one on my 2017 GT. With the stock headers and Cats it was the best sounding coyote exhaust bar none. Deep and rich, ZERO DRONE. However for my taste when I did my Long tubes and no cats it was definitely too loud for me. So I had to move to something quieter?

What did you go with? I mean, basically as a non-active car, I have to live with whatever volume it is, so you active guys get a cheat code, heh.

You can add ford valves, or create your own valve system. Its not too hard to plan it and have someone do the welding if you dont want to diy

Varex valved system is basically necessary if you dont have cats and want almost reasonable cold starts

So my car is a 2017 Gen 2 car. I ended up buying a GT350 rear valance along with a GT350 Stainless Works Legend(quieter) catback. I have the valves connected to a fob to go from quiet to loud mode. Works great.

Cool idea. For $1,000 I couldn't help but try out the Thermal system for my '22. If it sucks (which I don't think it will...) I can get most of the money back reselling it. I know people say "cry once" or whatever, but I had a hard time stomaching $2k+ for a cat-back exhaust. It's just pipes and mufflers y'all! Heh. I appreciate that they have made this one affordable for a 304 stainless 3" system, and I need something less angry than the S-Type and H-pipe I have now. It's fun horsing around, but can't talk to my wife when under any kind of acceleration at all... So loud.

I've had my Thermal R&D on my 2018 GT for about 3.5 years now. This is a very high quality, durable, and well fitting system.

In all my years 40+ years of having hot rod cars, I have never had so many compliments on the sound of this system. It's incredible. Mellow, super throaty and relatively quiet at light throttle so no one is offended. But lay into and it'll make your spine tingle.

Makes a 5.0 sound like a 7.3 liter. 100% no drone.

Very, very happy with it. If I had to do all over again, I would not hesitate to buy it again.

Thank you for this! I got it yesterday and can't wait to open the box and get it put on! I'm the least thrilled about having to sell off the Borla/Steeda set-up on marketplace, hah. I don't hate the sound of it, but it's just too loud almost all the time.

Another satisfied customer. Zero drone, none. Nice deep tone that opens nicely when you put your foot on it. Fit was perfect. Stock Exhaust cold start vs Thermal cold start.

Did you ever install this system? LTH by chance? I'm in DFW area, if you're somewhat close I'd appreciate being able to hear it in person.

Hey, yes I got it installed. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to give you a comparison with headers, because I still have stock manifolds and cats. I have heard that this system is the ideal one to have if you want headers and don't want to make your ears bleed. Thus far I absolutely love this system and recommend it to everyone with a non-active exhaust car. The quality is excellent the price is literally half of Borla and even less than half of Corsa... I really cannot recommend it enough. I'd love for more S550 and s650 owners to consider this system, and not The usual suspects every time.

So I had the Thermal Exhaust when the car was stock and it was the best sounding exhaust ive heard on a coyote PERIOD. However when I went Longtubes and no cats it was WAYYYY too loud, So I sold it and got a quieter catback. I miss the sound it had before the headers though.
