Ok, I cannot take my tires lighting up so easily which I Do Not Like.
For the members with High HP cars on the street, Which tire, wheel combo works best for straight forward traction without having to do burn outs to achieve the traction needed.
Thank you for your help

I guess whipple + interchiller is doing its work 😂

whats the current setup?

on a drag prepped surface or street?

Street/roll or drag style from a dig?

Right now, I run 325/30/19 with Toyo R888Rs 14lbs boost but going to 16lbs for spring with Smooth boost controller. For right now, 40-50mph WOT hits on street. I want bead lock wheels, Light weight, nice looking.

Yer not going to hook on the street, you can only mitigate it.
There's only one way to do that - Bias plies.

Ditch the crappy vacuum bypass for a Smoothboost. The vacuum bypass hits way too hard and you get boost before you’re even at WOT. Smoothboost fixes those problems. Plus you can even turn down the boost level if you’re on the street, on 93, or any other reason.

315/30/20 R888R handles power pretty well on my Camaro (1059 WHP on Whipple 3.0) for street use but I don’t run full boost on the street. ET Street R at the track of course. :)

I run 315 x 30 x R888R tyres on a 98 (93 in US) tune on my Whippled 10R80 GT at 690 whp with good traction from 40 upwards rolling into it and you can punch it hard from 55. As for roll racing at a legal non prepped track 35-125 mph on e85 at 790 whp I run a Hoosier DBR 28 x 10.5 x 18 and this tyre totally hooks from a 2nd gear hit without pedalling, amazing tyre!

I agree. I feel their are numerous things I have to address, tires shocks and Yes, installing the smooth boost. I talked quite a while with either the rep or the owner of smoothboost. He sent me the PDF for the instructions and tuner. I sent it to Wengerd to see what he thought, Daryl said it looks like a good product and said he would tune for it. He also is one of the few tuners (at least in March) who would tune my KPM returnless fuel system at a pretty high boost, and going higher he sees no issues with fuel supply. Thanks

How much does Wengerd think the KPM fuel system can support?

I'm in the same boat. My 19" 305 NT555RII's are having a tough time in 4th even at these cooler temps. 3rd is hopeless. I sure miss the old MT ET Street Radials.

Hoosier DBRs are amazing for me on non prepped surface but are not street legal here in Aus.

Well at 14lbs of boost, I ask Daryl can my fuel system supply another 2lbs of boost he said, no issue. But of course we will verify when I get back on the dyno for the tuning.

Awaiting the results of your retune with more boost. What should 2 more lbs put you at on power?

As someone mentioned, I believe the whipple vacuum bypass cannot adjust or keep up or be proportional to throttle response. I think it is going nuts due to the higher boost and the vacuum which snaps up and down continuously. I hope the smoothboost which connects inline to the gas pedal connector taking that signal and controlling the boost at a more lenier and proportional boost.
