Looking to start a thread that is dedicated to those selected for an allocation to a GTD. Honestly I’m surprised I was selected and didn’t think I’d ever get an allocation but as of this morning, I was selected. I figured this would be a good page for information, updates, dealers selection for purchase, msrp discussions, options discussions and must haves. I’m sure others will have their personal threads and this is just a page to allow all GTD allocated owners to come together and express opinions and experience. I’ve got about a million questions myself so I’ll start it off.

1. How hard will it be to find a dealer willing to sell at MSRP?
2. Will there be a basic options list similar to the 05 ford GT where you will want all options available for future value appreciation?
3. How many GTD’s will there really be?

From the way I understand it the dealers cannot mark the cars up just like the Ford GT. Hopefully that is the way it is.
But anyone that gets one and is in the Nashville area and plans to track it. I would gladly pay the SCCA TNiA fee if you take me for a couple of laps.

I must be doing something wrong to not even entertain the thought of a 300k+ car...and I make good money. Maybe a used GT500...but damn not something triple that cost!

Black with Kona stripes. It’s got a rebuilt title but was not rebuilt. Long story and I have a thread on here about it. Cars perfect. 13,500miles . It’s also listed for sale on this site

1. Shouldn't be a problem. It's your allocation. Each dealer gets 15K for each GTD sold. They don't need an ADM. If they try, take your business elsewhere

2. That's individual preference, but I believe that there will be a basic (base) car that you can significantly option out.

3. It will probably follow the GT model. Multimatic can only crank out so many cars a year, and that will be the limitation. How many years? Who knows.

The last Ford GT run was MY2018-2022. I would think the GTD will probably follow a similar timeline, or at the very least give a good idea of the time it takes to build these kinds of cars.

How many GTs were produced per year?

From what I was able to find from Ford media publications, a total of 1,350 units were scheduled to be produced over the span of that generation. That’s an increase from the originally planned 1,000 units. So, assuming they started production in 2017 for a 2018 MY, that’s roughly 225 cars per year over the span of the program.

https://media.ford.com/content/ford...2018/10/18/ford-increasing-gt-production.html

Now, I think the wildcard is that GTD is based on the S650 chassis. Ford can probably crank out enough chassis’s that they won’t be the holdup, it’s probably a matter of how fast Multimatic can move to keep up. I’m assuming paint will be a longer lead time with a bunch of 1 of 1 colors too.

The bottleneck would be Multimatic. There is debate whether the chassis need significant modification or not to accomplish the build. If it didn't, why would they bother to send it off to Multimatic?

300 per year sounds about right. If the build is less complex than a GT and more resources are thrown at it, they could potentially double that figure. Would they? I wouldn't simply because I don't think Ford would want to crank these cars out like an assembly line in large quantities. Its a halo car. Multimatic will be doing them for a reason. On top of that the car is special.

We will see.

I would agree, I don’t think Ford wants to crank them out like an assembly line car and would also agree the chassis probably needs some modifications. I found a Hemmings article that states a production goal of between 300-700 cars per year over the span of 2025 and 2026. The article was from June of 2024. If they’re building 1,000 cars, 500 per year doesn’t sound too unreasonable but I don’t know what Multimatic’s capacity is. Might end up being closer to 300 per year and they stretch the program over 3 years instead of the initially stated 2 years. Here’s the Hemmings article
