My firehouse shift filling app (cant be missing OT for new parts), Waze, OBD monitoring, Roush active exhaust app and others.I'm at a loss as to why anyone would need a phone mount when you have Nav and bluetooth.
Why the sarcasm? I had a legit question and was enlightened by some polite folks. No need to be that internet guy.My firehouse shift filling app (cant be missing OT for new parts), Waze, OBD monitoring, Roush active exhaust app and others.
Some people can throw their phone in the console and thats great but many of us rely on apps for different things and need our phones visible.
Hence the "Best phone mounting location" thread
Love the guys who come and post about not needing their phone visible in a thread for people who want their phone visible

Options on navigation... I run waze, google maps, Here maps, and stock apple nav... depending on the situation. My stock nav is terrible.I'm at a loss as to why anyone would need a phone mount when you have Nav and bluetooth.
On one phone I have the metal plate on the inside of the battery cover. You can't see it.Do you guys have cases on your phones that are using the magnetic mount? Ive got a case that holds my DL and CC and just wondered how well it would hold a iphone 6 plus.
You're right this was in no way aimed at you. I was replying to you in the first part of my reply. The bottom was just a couple blanket statements to that kind of person who enters a thread they have no intent on helping just to give a useless opinion. Why the sarcasm? I have an iPhone 6+ also. I started with the metal plate on the inside of the case. It would hold if you centered it correctly on the magnet but if you hit a big bump, it'd fall off. I mounted it on the outside of the case and have never had a problem with it, it holds very well.Do you guys have cases on your phones that are using the magnetic mount? I have Samsung 7 plus, have the plate on the back of the phone, case would get in the way, and if your phone drops out the case, then could cost a lot of wonga, have it mounted in the vent. :frusty:I have an iPhone 6+ also. I'm a musician and NAV can't find many of the Clubs I perform at and ...I'm at a loss as to why anyone would need a phone mount when you have Nav and bluetooth.
there is a multipage rant on here for us sync 3 guys waiting..by the end of the year was the latest...don't hold your breath though :frusty::frusty:Ford needs to give us 2016 owners Apple Car Play. This would fix the NAV problem that I paid $900 for. The dealer said Apple CarPlay was already in my car but it isn't. This is my only gripe with my car, Ford and the dealership. I would have bought a 2017 had I known all this. :headbonk:
I have a similar one in my wife's car. It works fine, but it it blocks the cold air vent and is kind of annoying at times.Went on a trip over the weekend and the NAV couldn't find the destination and/or it would have got my there 30 minutes longer so I had to use my iPhone GPS Maps app.
Thanks. I ordered that and should get it tomorrow.
I like the other mount on this page also but I only need it when I'm going somewhere and the NAV can't do it so I'm not interested in a semi permanent mount thingy but, it looks pretty cool.
