Explain please. Maybe we can all learn from your misfortune. Sorry that happened to you.
Someone took a tire iron to my rear window. And fucked up the c pillar as well, which is going to be a helluva repair bill because of that.

also have to have driver window replaced, they kicked my headlights and broke them, walked on the roof and hood, scratched paint in a few places.

Holy cow. Any suspects? I don't even know what to say
Not yet that I know of. Cops got some prints, not sure if it is useful. We have some video from my offices of two guys taking the cover off, but haven’t found video of when it was busted into.

Maybe we need to post a note on our cars "Sync3 is not worth stealing. It's no Pioneer/Kenwood"

In all seriousness, just wow.
Was the parking lot littered with other cars treated the same?

Hang them High!

Since this is a Mustang, the punishment is the same as for Horse theives of years past, no? :) It definitely should be.

In downtown apparently 5 cars got busted into this weekend. This was in a parking garage in downtown mobile where I live and work atm. I was about the only car on the entire floor. Today the floor has no open parking spots during the workday.

we have two people removing the car cover on video at 10:10pm Saturday, but nothing else yet

also, what’s the point of the app if my car can get broken into and it doesn’t notify? Or the cover able to be removed without the alarm going off?

FordPass? How's the 3/4G coverage in the garage?
I know it is up to date on info, I can lock and unlock it from the app while it is in there. Location services work. Would think it would let me know if someone BREAKS A FUCKING WINDOW WITH A TIREIRON!

of course! But lock/unlock are 'GET' operations and can be highly asynchronous. and high latency and nobody notices. Bump/Proximity/shock are 'PUT' operations. Since it was the weekend the car would have been at rest for over 24hrs. Is 'deep sleep' mode not very responsive?

When you get your car back, it's worth some testing.

This whole vandalism bullshit is quite frustrating! No words! Hope those fucks get caught and make em pay tripple the size of the repair premium.

On another note - I made cold intake air cover version 2. I've used the thicker plexiglass and thinned the edge to fit better the rubber gasket. Here are some pics...

Thickness comparisson - almost twice the thickness.

Observations: the thicker cover is harder to take out, not difficult to install. However it seems thickness of glass does not do any much difference than the thinner one - Intake Air Temp same with both covers. Without cover the difference is about 2deg. Celsius higher.

The above makes me even more confident that the cold air sucks "mixed" air feom the front and the radiator warms the air up front.

I am planning on making a kind of snorkel to insulate the intake air and avoid hot and cold air mixing. So far the benefit is marginal. I am trying to figure out how to measure hood extraction without wind tunnel with the stock M1 hood.

The snorkel idea sounds good, but keep in mind, others have stated they got error codes when too much air was forced into the snorkel. I don't recall hearing their solution. I would think you could baffle the intake a measured amount if you ever get to that point however.

does the thicker material 'bounce' less?
Also he could put in a reed-valve from like a 2-stroke. Or maybe a poppet valve, like a TurboSmart. Can you imagine the swoosh from let-off on a NA car? It would have many a car "guy" scratching their head...

oooohh, I know what he can use. The relief valve off a pressure cooker! You can even watch the weighted cap do its dance.

I think covering the plexi in gold foil (ala space suit face shield) will yield that extra bit of bling. You can leave a window so people can still see the internals.
