were offering me 42k for my 2021 mach 1. It's fully loaded with a 63495$ windows sticker and less than 10k miles.
it's a skosh low. I would put your value at just under 44k personally, not controlling for mileage. Maybe add 1.5-2k back for low miles.

Depending on the fee structure, it might be worth posting on CL or BaT etc. Almost nobody pays cash at a dealer and with used car loan rates vastly above what people were lulled into paying for a couple decades of financial shenanigans, reality bites back hard. The dealer has to find someone willing to pay 8-12% on a ~45k loan.

You live near rich-as-god millenials employed by Microsoft, Amazon and less so Boeing so it shouldn't be too hard to get local buyer interest.

I've seen local dealers post and sell non-handling package mach 1s with 12-15k miles at 52-53k and they sold. That's why I figured I should atleast be getting 48k from the dealer. I know they have to clean, maintenance, pay ad revenue, but I think they'd still sell it for 56k

Considering the seattle area already has a mark up on cars, new and used.

This jerk was different. It was on the downshift while braking. And it would throw your whole body forward into the seat belt as the seat belt locked up. And it ALWAYS did it from 3rd to 1st on the downshift, unless you were able to coast and let it shift from 3rd to 1st without braking. Like you almost ALWAYS got jerked forward into the locked seat belt. It was annoying tbh. And now it'd starting to do it again with the new transmission with 1k miles on the new tranny.
Hey everybody. It's been a long time since I've posted. I've been through many ups and downs and things have been hard, but some things have been good as well. I've owned my mach 1 for 2 years and 8 months.

I actually really enjoyed driving this car, but due to Ford Dealerships around me, I'm very disappointed in owning this car.

To start, let me say. I have about 8.8k miles on the car. Yes, about 3k miles per year. I have never tracked the car, although I planned on it at one point, but now I'm just scared of breaking the car, since it already has issues.

First of all. The transmission from the gate was faulty. I took the car to Ford at less than 1000 miles because it was jerky when shifting. I actually made a post post one one of these threads about it 2 years ago. Ford said the transmission was running normally when I first took it I'm. And that it was jerky because the 10r80 was learning how I drive, and would learn to shift better. It never did, it only got worse. The transmission was replaced under warranty around 7.8k miles or something like that (going off the top of my head)

The transmission was just replaced in December 2023 by what I'm going to call dealership #2

In September 2023, I was having my closer dealership #1 service my car for routine inspection and oil change. They dropped my car off of the lift! They even told me they dropped my car off the lift when they were trying to rotate my tires. They cracked the front splitter and replaced it for free. And my car all of the sudden had scuffs on the rims, that it never had before, and Ford said there was 100% NO CHANCE that they caused those scuffs on my rims. Even though it was the first thing I saw on thr car after they told me they dropped it off the lift. They wouldn't take responsibility for it. I called corporate and made a case number. In the end, I had damaged rims and no one would take responsibility.

Ever since Ford dealership #1 dropped my car off of the lift, there is a rattle that comes from under the hood during heavy acceleration. This rattle NEVER EXISTED, for the first 7k miles. Now all of the sudden I have this rattle.

I didn't want dealership #1 working on my car after dropping it, that's when I started going to dealership#2 I took it in for service in November 2023 (they were booked out in october)

I took it in to have it examined for the rattle noise, and the still continuous jerkiness while shifting. They claimed they couldn't hear the rattle, but the jerkiness was the faulty transmission, and they replaced it. Now I get my car back in December 2023. Now it has the rattle (which has continuously been getting worse) and now has a new problem. A transmission whine/whistle that was present on day 1 of me getting the car back. I return the car to Ford again to complain about the whistle. The service tech test drove the car and told the representative I was dealing with, that these are normal mustang operating sounds, and that there is no concern. Idk how a rattle that magically showed up after Ford dropping my car is a normal operating sound. They just don't want to service my car. And they said the transmission whine is normal too. It's b.s. I'm 99% sure it's low transmission fluid. As now I've had the car back for 4 month, and the whine is getting louder, the rattle is getting louder., and Ford refuses to due anything for my cars. The reason I think it's low transmission fluid? I've had the car back for 4 months. When I first got it back. It was the SMOOTHEST the car ever shifted. It was amazing. It was like a brand new car, it felt so much better.. and now with 4 months of this transmission whine they refuse to fix, the transmission is getting jerky again, just like before. I have 4 months left of warranty, and I'm having really bad anxiety about even owning this car anymore. It's so sad. I know as soon as my warranty is up, this car is going to shit its pants on me, and leave me with a massive amount of mechanical bills. What do I do?

And these noises my car is making aren't subtle. Every single passenger I have can tell something is wrong with my car, and ford's technicians are all saying it's normal. What do I do?
It's really frustrating to hear of your dealership issues!

I agree that you should have a good third-party mechanic look over the car.

I also agree that the transmission fluid level should be checked as soon as possible. It's not something that's easy to do, and it's possible if you've got the right tools, but it's better to have someone with experience do it. I had mine checked at the dealership and waited to see the dipstick.

Whether it needs fluid or not, after checking, I'd ask the dealer to reset the learning mode on the transmission and start that process over again.

I've read so much negative information related to the 10R80. I've experienced the harsh shifting and inconsistent behavior and it's startling sometimes. BUT - I had patience and drove my GT gently and consistently. I noticed that the Normal mode settled down at 2000-3000 miles but sport and track modes were not right. I kept driving it and stayed out of those modes for the most part. I recently turned over 10,000 miles and on a long trip, I noticed that the sport mode has also now settled down. After 10K miles, my 10R80 is now hands-down the most pleasant, smooth, stable and enjoyable automatic transmission that I've ever owned in all modes. The programming does things that you may not expect at times, and you've got to get used to how it's programmed to work, but there is hope. I'm convinced that the key is not beating the car with overly 'spirited driving' and having patience. It apparently takes a long time for the transmission to settle and it probably continues to 'learn' progressively for it's lifetime.

I hope that you're able to get things resolved - and get to enjoy your car!

Update. I've decided to sell the car. I was taking it to dealerships for appraisals. Most dealerships were offering me 42k for my 2021 mach 1. It's fully loaded with a 63495$ windows sticker and less than 10k miles. Pretty fat loss on my end I guess. Virtually a brand new car. But I had it put into the shop, for what ford made it seem like a quick repair. It's been in the shop since June 3rd, I haven't been able to get a rental either, since the dealership working in my car is booked out on their rentals by over 6 months. And then my ford repair rep lied to me and told me that ford is out funding to supply 45$ a day towards a rental. I called corporate to ask if I could get a rental and have it covered. Corporate told me they never heard of anything like that, and to get the rental and asked for the name of the rep.

Now my car has been in thr shop since June 3rd. Which means, I can't sell it.. because it's in the shop... continuously losing value, because the later into summer it gets, the harder it becomes to sell in washington state, and then dealerships will offer even less.

Here is my frustrations with my current situation of my car being in the shop.

My representative got to a point where she won't even call me anymore. I'm pretty sure she is too embarrassed to actually call me and tell me these things over the phone. So she just resorted to texting me..

Edit: I was going to attach the screen shots of the texts, but I cannot seem to upload any pictures on this forum on any thread. Idk why I can't. I tested other threads on this forum with different pictures too. I cannot attach a file to a post anymore? So I'll copy and paste the texts below:

Monica June 20th: HEY THERE, SO LOOKS LIKE I'M WAITING ANOTHER PART ( HARDWARE) FOR AXLE HOPING IT WILL BE TOMORROW, BUT STILL WON'T BE DONE, SO UNDATE MONDAY. THANK YOU

Monica June 21st: GOOD MORNING, UPDATE: WE GOT THE AXLE SHAFT WE ORDERED, HOWEVER IT CAME IN DAMAMGED, AND OF COURSE YOUR VEHICLE IS IN THE AIR APART, SO WE HAD TO REORDER IT. ALSO THE STRUT BEARING PLATES THAT WERE ORDERED WERE INCORRECT ( HAVING TO REORDER ) I'M VERY SORRY ABOUT THIS. I WILL BE IN TOUCH NEXT WEEK WITH YOU, LETS SAY WEDNESDAY, IN THE MEAN TIME YOUR CAR IS IN THE SHOP A WAITING THE PARTS. THANK YOU HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND. MONICA

Monica today July 2nd (she never contacted me the week of 24th-28th.):GOOD MORNING, YOUR NOT GOING TO BELEIVE THIS, GOT THE OTHER AXLE WE ORDERED AND ITS DAMANGED. PARTS MANAGER HAS CONTACTED WHERE EVER ITS BEING SENT FROM AND ASKED TO HAVE QUALITY CHECK DONE ON THE NEXT ONE BEFORE SENT OUT. POINT IS WE HAD TO ORDER ANOTHER AXLE. I'M VERY SORRY FOR THE INCONVIENCE, YOUR CAR IS LITTERALLY APART ON THE TECHNICIANS RACK STILL. I WILL UPDATE YOU ON FRIDAY THE 5TH. HAVE A GOOD MORNING. THANK YOU

Like geeze. Is there anyone higher up in the ford corporate food chain on these forums who can help make me a happy and proud ford owner again? Because it's crazy how my whole life, ever since I was 7 years old, all I ever wanted was a mustang. And buying a brand new mach 1 from the factory, and the service I've gotten from ford, has made me never want to own a Ford again. And it truly breaks my heart. Funny going into those ford dealerships and seeing those old pictures from the 60s talking about how ford customers aren't just customers, they're a family.

But I mean, this is kind of how people treat their families in 2024 I guess, so maybe this is just the standard family treatment these days.
So why was your car at the shop again if you decided to sell it? What's the issue with the axles?

I'm sorry you're having all these problems. This is why you always document, document, document.

Sorry, maybe I communicated something wrong? I decided to sell the car. I haven't sold it yet though. I just made the decision to sell it. It's STILL in the shop. That's why I typed it in past tense, because I had already made the decision before making the post.

As soon as it's out of the shop. I'm selling it. I'm not even worried about getting low balled. I just want this car out of my life. It's too much stress. I'll probably sell it for the first offer I get.

Right now it's in the shop to have part of the drive train replaced/worked on.

This was because the car would occasionally do what I would describe as a small bump, almost like a jerk, but waaaaay less extreme. It would do it while driving. But it wasn't from the transmission. Because it would constantly do it. Whether accelerating, coasting, braking, or maintaining a speed. It didn't have to shift or go into a certain RPM band. They ordered a new half shaft. None of this is even for the rattle I've been trying to get ford to fix. And I'm just done with the car, and I'm done with Ford. Been walking to work for over 1 month. I can't even get a fucking rental, which is beyond fucking crazy when you spend 70,000$ on a car.. I'm going to sell it and just get an electric bike for a year, and save up to buy a new house with my woman. 1 year on an electric bike should add a good 30-40k in my bank by next year.

You really need to start talking to the dealer manger and Ford my friend. You are letting them off the hook with all this BS. They need to reimburse you for a rental if they dont have one available. They want you to fall through the cracks, and you're letting it happen. Good luck.

My dealership is out of rentals, and liad about the reimbursement. So I actually called corporate and corporate told me they have to reimburse me 45$ a day towards a rental. But the rental HAS to be a Ford for reimbursement. But of thr 8 rental places I checked, all where out of a Ford. Except for one that had a mustang that cost 90$ per day for an ecoboost, and that ecoboost just became available in the last week. I passed on it. I've literally called corporate so many times. It's gotten me NO WHERE..

Last month i called and asked about my case with the dealership that damaged my rims. Corporate basically said it's a he said she said, and they won't do anything for me.

So I have to deal with my scratched up rims. Since I can't prove Ford damaged them. That's why I take pictures of my car before every service now. It's bullshit that I even have to do this.

And this case with the rattle is getting no where. Because the guy I had a case open with, named DeWitt Morris, and he gave his email of [email protected].

The number he gave me to reach him,
"866-631-3799" extension 79981

when I call that number, it's always a number trying to get me to do a survey and then provide my bank info. Its not a ford number as far as im aware, and he didn't respond to email, so idk what's going on with this case. I just know this case number is #cxh02098002

and i also have another case against the kent, WA ford who lied to me about the rental policy, since she lied and said ford is out of funding and won't reimburse rentals. Corporate told me she lied and gave me a case number for that too, incase she really tried to not reimburse me for a rental. But I don't want to pay that much for the rental when I shouldn't even be paying at all..

$40s for the car is too low IMO. I traded a 21 M1 and just bought another Mustang so I m up on the current prices. All the M1s I looked at this week were asking well into the $50s. Don t let the dealers you hate make $10K off you.

Sounds like you may not have a lot of experience with a car like the M1. Do you have any local Mustang friends or clubs that you hang with? Let someone who has these cars (with experience ) take your car for a drive and give you their opinion . I thought I read you complaining about a 3-1 shift while driving (at what speed)??? The Tremec trans is "a little" louder and harsher than the mt82.

I hope the trans issue isn’t caused by a 3-1 shift since the manual implies you shouldn’t do that.

It's a 10 speed auto. It doesn't have a tremec, and I can't control it going from 3 to 1, it ALWAYS skips 2nd gear. 2nd gear virtually doesn't exist. I can only get it in 2nd gear coasting down a slight incline from a stop. I have had a couple mustang enthusiasts drive my car. All 3 guys said something different about the rattle, and only 1 noticed the drive train issue, because it's a newer issue, and the first 2 guys drove it a while back.

There is a TSB on the A10 for jerky shifting. Sounds like you may have something different though.

Cool, didn’t realize you had the auto. Good luck with it all. I had a clutch problem caused by F***stone a while ago and I couldn’t get any traction on resolution until I involved my insurance company.

I regret the auto now. But i would have regretted a manual just as much. I have issues with my legs and lower back from being ran over by a minivan as a teenager, so too much shifting of a manual transmission shortens my driving time. Going long distances on the free way when I don't have to shift, I can last longer. But even driving automatics for extended periods of time hurts me. (Even being a passenger hurts me. Lol) But due to a somewhat more recent life injury (dislocated 2 ribs from my spine from blunt force trauma.) I can't really drive longer than 30 minutes of using only my left hand to steer, which I think makes a manual transmission unplausable for me to have as a daily commuter. I can't use my left arm for extended periods of time, no matter what the task is. It's pretty embarrassing to be honest.

Edit:p.s. I'm glad you got the issue resolved, I'm sorry it took insurance being involved, for them to do anything for you.
