It's not really a "filter" as such, rather a mesh screen which creates the foam. Over time, that filter will clog with minerals and soap residue, which then reduces foam quality. These filters are replaceable on most reputable foam cannons, usually sold as a general service kit. It's not a bad idea to have one in stock just in case, although they can be cleaned too.

I tried to like Brake Buster for tire cleaning but it just wasn’t doing it for me. I’m using Gyeon Tire Cleaner right now, so far I’m liking it better than Brake Buster. I have a bottle of Adams and a bottle of Ethos tire cleaner as well. I’ve used Adams in the past and have really liked it but wanted to try a few more out. And I have a 1L bottle of Retyre hiding on one of my shelves also, so I’m going to try that one as well.

I agree about brake buster. It's OK but there are others I prefer. For tires I really like P&S undressed and Stjarnagloss Forst. ReTyre is excellent too and I just got a bottle of shine supply Wise Guy to try. As for wheels I always reach for an iron remover of some sort. NV purge is my go to but KCX MWC is excellent too.

No doubt about it, there are certainly more potent tire cleaners than Brake Buster.

If I'm dealing with horribly neglected tires, I'm not grabbing Brake Buster, it's going to be Wise Guy, Undressed or the sledgehammer.............................Carpro ReTyre.

Sometimes that level of aggression is not needed, so as a maintenance cleaner, Brake Buster is what I gravitate to. Still, I've managed to get decent results from Brake Buster undiluted on neglected tires..............................

Let us know what you think of Wise Guy. Seen and heard good things about some of the Shine Supply stuff.

Wise guy is a great product. It was originally called a tire cleaner but has since been reclassified by Shine Supply as a Wheel and Tire Cleaner. I've found it to be one the stronger tire cleaners on the market, its also economical because its diluted 1:1, so no matter what size you buy, you end up with double that amount. At the moment, I have it mixed up in an old P&S gallon, ready to go.

To give you a picture of where Wise Guy stands in terms of cleaning power, I would rank it with the following products, number 1 being most aggressive -

1. Carpro ReTyre
2. Adam's Rubber & Tire Cleaner
3. Shine Supply Wise Guy
4. P&S Undressed
5. P&S Brake Buster (a distant 5th to Undressed)

The only problem I've had with Wise Guy is that its even more harsh on sprayers than Brake Buster. I destroyed a couple of those red Kwazar's, multiple Canyon and Tolco spray heads. The way around that is to use a pump action sprayer.

Having ran the updated wide-mouth MTM foam cannon for a few months now, there is only one problem I have encountered, something I actually discovered very quickly.

I use a foam cannon with either soap or Brake Buster for wheel cleaning. I'm also seated when cleaning wheels, the stool and bucket on wheels so I can shuffle from wheel to wheel without getting up. This will sound like a first world problem, but with a bucket full of water and tools, there was nowhere to put the foam cannon when not in use. That was until Maxshine and MTM started offering a bracket to hang the foam cannon from the bucket. This of course was the perfect solution.

Having searched for something like that for ages, I even considered having one made for me, you can imagine my disappointment when I discovered the updated MTM bottle and cap arrangement is not compatible with either the Maxshine or MTM bracket. :doh

I can't see how an updated version would work considering the lack of clearance between the foam cannon body and the black adaptor cap. So, I've been back to fumbling from wheel to wheel managing the stool, the pressure washer gun/hose, bucket and foam cannon.

My latest idea involves a foam cannon wall bracket that I spotted online.

These work different to regular quick connect fittings in that they a simple push to engage-release rather than pulling down the outer sleeve. I can't link a video, but the Amazon listing has a video showing it in action. These are actually very slick, way more precise than the budget price would indicate.

The plan is to mount the bracket to my detailing stool, which will have the foam cannon resting between my legs for quick and easy retravel. I think this should work, but like anything, it will be a case of trial and error.

Now I get it, D. Hell, I didn't even know it was in there but now I'm gonna have to pull it apart and have a looksee.

Good tip WD and I have one that I use for cleaning handguns.

I think this should work, but like anything, it will be a case of trial and error.

See now, I like the fixed bayonet mount idea more better than the first one you got that hangs on the bucket lip so I'll be most curious to read how you like it.

OK, so I disassembled both of mine and even though they're five or six years old, they were surprisingly clean although there was some minor oxidation and mineral build up. Put everything in a bath of hot water and CLR Lime and Scale Remover for an hour which got did the trick. Lubed all the o-rings and finally, I used a steel gun-cleaning brush to shine up most of the metal and removed the old Teflon tape remnants.

Edit: Forgot the Before photo. I only photographed one cannon because they both had the same corrosion.

However, when I got to the gray sleeve inside the black plastic nozzle grip to take out the mechanism, there was what appears to be a solid steel ring holding it in place.

I saw no way to remove it so I left it as is and reassembled both. Didn't test them with the Kranzle but I will. Too many other Gotta Do's on the list. :=) BTW, there are other YT vids on dissassembly and rebuilding. Speaking of which, I ordered a kit for the next time.

Well, I ordered a Bear Force foam cannon off AliExpress to do the wheels & tyres.
It's the brass version, and not expensive.

AUD$25 = USD$17 ish for those who drive on the wrong side of the road.

The reviews on Youtube are quite good, remembering the price point.
I didn't bother with the stainless version.

It has a 1.25mm orifice fitted and comes with a 1.1mm orifice.

Whilst I was on AliExpress, I also got some orifices to play with.

Specifically a 1.05mm, 1.0mm, and 0.9mm.

Who knows what the tolerance of the drilling is like out of the factory, but I thought it might be fun to see if there was much difference, if any, using Brake Buster in the Bear Force cannon with the different orifices. Will get a mains power meter, to keep on eye on Gerni current draw.

You can buy the orifices by themselves or with the foaming mesh.
So I'll have several spare meshes as well.

Not expensive, so what the hell, something to try out.

Just bought a Bronco and the inside smells like a barn. Smelled the carpet and didn't find anything and changed the cabin air filter.

Is the AC condenser draining properly? Should notice puddles of water under the car when the AC is running. If it’s clogged it won’t drain then you’ll get a nasty smell in cabin.

If it’s not that, maybe that’s how Bronco’s smell? Bronco = barn?

I have an ozone generator. It is a home use generator made to soak large rooms so its a bit strong for cars, but it does work. Helps tremendously with cigarette smoke, I have "de-smoked" several cars for friends with fairly good results. Clean interior thorougly, change all cabin filters, setup ozone machine in car with HVAC set on recirculate at low speed and let soak for about an hour, then open windows and let clear for an hour. Repeat sometimes at least once to desired results... YMMV..

I'm asking because my current order of goodies is being held up due to a supply problem of Koch Chemie Green Star. (I don't need to link that - most of you know it!).

It could take weeks for the GS to arrive, and I've been offered the Blitz instead to complete my order. CareCarProducts say Blitz is identical to Green Star.

I could be a guinea pig and try Blitz, but having never used GS before either, I wouldn't know or appreciate the difference (if any) anyway! I'm tending to stick the tried and proven.

Identical to Green Star? Not when Green Star is pH 12.5 and the alternative is 10.4. I'm not dissing the product, but I hate when companies say things like that when its not true.

I'm not much of an APC user, I've only ever tried the pre-diluted Meguiar's Multi-Purpose Cleaner, the utterly terrible Auto Finesse Verso, and KCx Green Star.

Actually, I have also tried Bilt Hamber Surfex, that stuff is amazing! It's certainly more expensive, but its also heavily concentrated, in fact you can use it right out to 200:1.

Not car detailing, but I used it 1:1 on this chainsaw. The beauty here, no stinking solvent-based degreasers! Surfex is water based, so way less harsh, but certainly not less effective.

You can see I had Kerosene and degreaser ready to go, but didn't even need them.

That's a 38 year old chainsaw by the way.
