Long story short, I had to replace my throttle body. I ordered a brand new one and I'm pretty sure it's used. Scuff marks make it look like an intake tube was attached to it at some point and the back side has either really bad milling marks or was scuff from being mounted to intake manifold. Throttle plate also looks scratched up. Y'all's thoughts?

That definitely looks used, even the flange appears to have been marred a bit….like it was previously mounted for a while…

Return it and shop elsewhere for the same new unit.

That wouldn't pass highschool shop class. Name the vendor.

Yeah the one that came with my power pack 2 I bought several years ago didn't look anything like this. Vendor was AmericanMuscle.

Hey there!
I'm sorry to hear about this.
I would say that definitely has been mounting before, at a minimum. Definitely reach out to the vendor you got it from and see about a replacement.

Of course, more than happy to help here at Lethal Performance!

Looks like a return to me, so unless it was advertised that way and you got a discount, I’d probably send it back. Maybe contact vendor and express concerns to see if you can get a partial refund or credit for a future purchase.

Sold as a “new” part, though: UNACCEPTABLE.

Definitely looks like a refurb.

I'm always amazed at big companies that pull stuff like this when communities like this one exist. I mean we talk, we admire each others rides, we talk shiz to each other but at the end of the day we circle the wagons when we see our "brothers and sisters in petrol" gettin the shaft.

I've had people ask me about my hood and story that goes with it; I bet there are a few orders that won't be going to said vendor and I'm just one dude.

The little shops tend to put more of themselves into it cause guess what? Their word IS their bond.

I would give zero fucks if I got one like that. Who cares if it has a light scratch or scuff. It'd be nice to be mint but once it's on the car who cares.

However, I would want to know, was it returned because it doesn't work? That would piss me off if it didn't work.

I remember buying 'open box' parts from NewEgg in the old days. Shit never worked. I think they just decided if it got returned twice, something was wrong with it.

AM doesn't inspect returns or otherwise segregate them or validate. I suspect there is a LOT of fraudulent returns.

I do like how they show descriptions and pictures on some used or open box/damage items. ive scored some great deals in the past over basically a scuff or chip that was completely irrelevant to form or function.

best yet was a grille regular $430, tiny 1 inch crack fixed wit super glue. paid $95

Happened to me too. Ordered a new throttle body and received a very dirty used one with what looked like strut tower brace nuts in the box. Ordered wheels and they were scratched up around the center caps. There's a longer story to the wheels but result is the same.

Return it and contact lethal performance. Some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of shopping with. American muscle is trash
I shop at Lethal to price check because their website is very good. I only shop with AM when they have free shipping on the parts I need if the price is comparable. I run into high shipping charges at Lethal, but they have good sales from time to time if you have the patience and time to wait. Lethal has done very well for me.
