I'm still waiting for 500 miles on the odometer to run the 0-60 MPH and 0-100 MPH built-in acceleration timer application on my GT Premium with PP and manual. I should be there in the next day or so. So shortly after 500 miles (break-in period), I will sit on my street and do 0-60 MPH several times, then again after trying some slight mod.

Just had a best time of 5.4 sec without launch control enabled. Also, I have to agree that just as I approach 60 MPH, I redline and need to upshift into 3rd. I find myself hitting 3rd to make the 60 MPH acceleration timer in my track-apps work. I found something else kind of strange, but not sure if it was only me. After a few runs, I noticed that there was a decrease in power from 3000-5000 RPM. For example, the times I was getting for the first few runs were around 5.4 to 6.0, but in the next 3 runs, it was around 7! I think the engine was heating up? The temp gauge looked normal, so might be something else. The last run was around 6.4. The outside temp is 80-F and the tires were starting to smell since the first run.

It seems that the magazines all got mid 4's. I highly doubt they measured that with the track app.

Here Caranddriver got to 62mph with their PP car.

The math don't lie...if your speedo is only showing 58mph its speedo error. If you can pull the rpm with said ratios with given tire diameter you will get the given speed. Debate is over in my eyes. You can lead a horse to water you will never make him drink. You naysayers (or in this case, neigh-sayers) are the horse..

Just curious, what gas are these times on. Reg or Premium? I am still breaking mine in before I get to wild with it.

Anyone who OWNS a GT PP able to reach 60 without 3rd gear?? I mean shit. I own the car. I have used GPS; I get to 58 on speedo and 59 on GPS. I don't reach 60 unless I'm in 3rd.

93 Shell gas... Waiting for the price to drop more on chevron. I can't justify 80 cent difference from regular to premium that all the chevrons around me are charging. The shell down the road is pushing a 30 cent difference between the two... Haven't seen that in years.

How is this mathematically possible? You have a given tire diameter, you have a given ratio and max rpm...whats so hard to understand. If your GPS is showing 59mph than dump that POS GPS as its broken and not calibrated properly. Its like you guys are arguing that 1+1 does not equal 2. Come on man, its so simple there is an error in the speedo. The only way I even come close with the calculators to being under 60mph in 2nd gear is with a 27" tall tire which is the OEM 255/40/19 tire. With this tire it comes in at 60mph right on the nose.

My gps is old so yeah, who knows. I understand the numbers and it seems like it should be as you say. It is possible that ford screwed up with the speedo and or the app. Sucks and really kind of makes me disappointed. I have ran about 30-40 attempts now with the gps and the app and not once able to make it to 60 without 3rd with either.

The app is probably tied to the speedo, so if you are putting garbage in you will get garbage out. For those insisting that the car can't hit 60mph in 2nd gear is almost laughable to be honest.

I seriously doubt this. It is far more likely that it is tied to the front wheel speed sensors which are part of the ABS. If it were tied to the speedometer, it would measure the distance that the surface of the rear tires traveled during wheelspin - you could power-brake your way to a crazy 0-60 time without ever moving the car.

It is also very unlikely to be reliant upon the vehicle GPS, as GPS is generally very poor at measuring small changes in position. The best resolution of consumer level GPS systems is only accurate to around 7 feet or so, which can give you potentially 14 feet of movement before the system notices a change.

It seems to me that if the overall tire diameter is what it is, and the axle and transmission gear ratios are what they are, then it is likely that what is inaccurate is the tachometer, and perhaps it is actually redlining/hitting fuel cutout at less than the advertised rpm.

It seems *much* less likely to me that everyone who has tried this with their PP car is an idiot who is incapable of understanding the math.

Dave get over yourself, seriously. We all understand what the numbers say and what they should mean.

However, more than likely it is based off the front wheel which is smaller. Which doesn't calculate into your math. I will check to see what my speedo goes to later today under the engineering mode.

I will also note that the to speed in 5th both on a dyno and speedo doesn't go past 142ish.

I agree most likely it's speedo error but some other things just aren't adding up

My Garmin at home is really accurate. Always reads the same as the posted police radar stations. I'll let ya know what it says when I get home from vacation. Waze shows about a 3% error or so
