Just saw my first convertible on the road (M plates) and have to say I am not impressed. I am not trying to pick fights and I know the vert fan base is large and proud and I support that, but to me the biggest aesthetic pleasure of the new Mustang is the beautifully sloping fastback roof. The convertible chops it off and makes this spectacular car look like any other 2 door rag top on the road.

Personally I like the new convertibles and I think they look good. But the reason you stated is why I'm keeping my 2007 S197 convertible forever (since I want to have a convertible) and I'll be getting the fastback GT next year.

And I much prefer the look of the convertible. I think the Fastback is a good looking car, and it would be my second choice, but it is too claustrophobic for me. At least that is the best way I can describe it. Go look at RisingForce's pictures of his Magnetic Vert he just got in and tell me it isn't beautiful. And as far as convertibles go, I would argue the 2015 is the best looking on the road. Especially with the top down.

Everybody has their own preferences. Good thing we have a lot of options.

One thing is for certain. All Mustangs look good. :)

Both models have their advantages but I am hoping that the headroom in the vert is much better than the fastback. The fastback looks spectacular but the backseat is a solitary confinement chamber!

I agree with you 100%. The s500 is a fastback and it looks delicious. The vert just looks plain without the roof. To each his own.

Plain????? No version of the s500 could be legitimately accused of looking plain.

First Mustang I ever rode in was my uncle's '05 vert. I have still never been a fan of rag tops on any vehicle. The extra hostility could also just be my Mustang withdrawal. I haven't seen my baby in over a month. Got her Oct 9 and put her in storage Nov 8. March needs to get here tomorrow!

I am biased of course because I love convertibles, live in a warm climate, and it will be my weekend car. I just sold my 2005 Mustang GT Vert to make room

From the look of the convertable its seem like there are a bit more head room in the back.

See that doesn't even look like an S550 to me. It looks like a very fine automobile but not a Gen6

What's all this talk about the look of convertibles with the top up? The only time that should happen is when it's raining or dark.....then who cares?

I don't even put mine up at car shows.

I don't know what the deal is with those dark colors and convertibles. Quite honestly, I think this generation already looks blah in coupe form in all of the 100 dark greys and dark colors that seem to be puzzingly popular, but then with verts the blah factor is x1000. For a vert, go CO, or race red, or trippe yellow or SOMETHING... The dark color thing just isn't working anymore for me. Sea of boring black, grey, and silver cars out there

Convertibles and supermodels are the same. They both look best topless.
