E85 Users what E range are you OK with?

My local source has been consistently 85-87 ish all year. Today it tested at 75. I don’t know if this is fall mix as this is my first fall on E. I’m running a Shoemaker E85 tune but I’m not sure what ethanol range is considered acceptable.

IIRC tune wise there's no difference between e75 & up.

Where are you located? Here in Cali normally we get E85+ due to taxation. If it falls below E85 it gets taxed like regular gasoline.

I just got my car back from palm beach dyno last week. I specifically asked them this question. They told me 70+ and i have nothing to worry about.

I was told 75+ on an E85 tune, but I wanted to play it safe so had Juggernaut make me an E75 tune. My station consistently tests at 85+ though

Wengerd told me that his "E85" tunes are good down to E65. Colorado usually only gets E70 at the pump all year long.

I’ve heard other tuners say this before too. What power level are you at and do you do roll racing or 1/4 mile hits at the drag strip? I was just curious what kind of 1/4 mile et you pull with the twins and manual tranny?

I honestly just got the car back on friday. It rained all day sat and sunday. I put about 20 miles on it so far. I will be drag racing it. I had the emission tested kit that retains use of factory cats installed. At 15lbs it made 900hp and 810tq at the wheels. I really doubt i would ever run it at 15 lbs though.

Sounds like you have a missile on your hands! What tire will you be running out back? Any suspension mods? Please keep us updated on how it performs once you start making some hits.

My tuner told me I was good down to E70. I'd get in touch with the tuner for sure and see what they say.

I haven’t had any issues with E70 from OnCue in OK when passing through, but I have a relatively mild NA car.

Anecdotally, I think my gas mileage is slightly better on the E70 stuff versus the E85
