I didn’t contact them. I figured it would be too much of a hassle in trying to deal with them for repair work. I think it’ll be much easier to have the repair done locally, as I’m considering having some Vibrant Performance Race Mufflers welded in.

I was concerned that a tune revision would be needed with the cat delete, so I reached out to Lund and confirmed that no revisions are needed.

Is the crack before or after the cat? If before, it probably was a good thing it cracked as it acted as a relief valve for the backpressure from the clogged cats. If this was the case, its a good design. Not an engineer but looking at it as a layman. If after, its poor manufacture.

Yes, the crack in the weld is after the cat.

I had the Vibrant Race Mufflers welded onto the Ultimate Headers mid-pipes today. I’ll try and install them tomorrow and hopefully get the car roadworthy again soon.

@WD Pro the welder carefully examined the aft sections of both mid-pipes and determined that the reason the passenger side broke was because it was fused (both sides of the pipe melted together instead of using filler rod). He welded them both up and and said they should be good to go now.

At least the weld is solid now. Compliments to the chef !

You are right about the welds only in those areas on the mid-pipes. I can’t figure out why they didn’t add filler rod there. The welder/chef said he was certain that anyone else, who has Ultimate Headers mid-pipes that are fused together like that will eventually experience the same type of failure.

Why the mini mufflers? Are you looking to quell a certain kind of noise good sir?

No, I was just looking for something that wouldn’t require me to make multiple cuts and get me close to the same length as the cats. The race mufflers were fairly close In length, so I decided to give them a try.

I see.... I have a set of "race cats". Not sure how much they would help clean the air because I can see right through the honeycomb. You're doing the best thing though. Just get rid of them.

Engines cost a lot more than a few dollars nowadays. Let us know how those sound.
