Is it just the photo, or does the split ‘weld’ not even look like a weld when compared to the ones on either side of it ?

Around the underside of the pipe, it looks like the tubing has simply been cut open - with straight edges and zero weld penetration ?

Hope you get it all fixed up :like:

Thanks WD. I thought the same thing too, but in looking at it up close, it appears to be no penetration around 3/4 of the pipe. Here are a couple of closeup shots. It looks the same throughout the entire break.

Yeah I agree, look under the ‘weld’ and you can see the cut tubing edges :

That edge should be torn / jagged and have parts of the mating face and weld bead attached to it.

That weld is pretty much cosmetic only. What are the other welds like on the other parts of the system ?

Yes, I see that and completely agree. The rest of the welds appear to be of good quality. It just looks like that section of the pipe didn't get the proper attention that was needed.

From left to right, check welds 2 and 3 on the bottom pipe in the photo :

Compare the size of the bead (and the lack of discolouration) to weld 1.

What brand headers are these? Is Ultimate the manufacturer?

It’s hard to tell, but the top and bottom welds are actually raised and and have more filler in them, but the center weld looks like it could develop into the same problem and split over time. I’ll have it addressed when I get the work done on it.

Im not going to lie to ya though. It STINKS without cats on 93. On E85 it wasnt as bad but I had to switch back to 93 for my whipple install and man its horrible. windows up AC on all the time now unless Im moving. When I stop, windows back up. Its terrible.
You must have a very sensitive nose ha-ha.
I gutted my factory cats (needs to only pass a visual here)
I don't think it stinks that bad. Can even stay in the garage
with the big door open no problem.

By comparison, my 440 roadrunner.. will make me tear up in like 17 seconds ha-ha.

Maybe it’s camera and lighting trickery, but has this one already started (working upwards from the start / stop point) ?

Lucky you didn't lose that engine with this kind of blockage.
