Interesting offer from Ford but I will stick with the units I have. Reminds me of the Chevy attainability debacle on Z06 and E-Ray offerings...sort of :cwl:

more of a minimalist/integrated guy myself. But I love this. Wish all the 7th gen looked like this- especially the grill treatment. Get rid of the giant bass mouth already - looks especially bad with the fake plastic bottom lip on the new grille.

the only thing I’d change on the GTD is the headlight accent - from yellow to white or even a bluish tint.

I just hope this $300K+ halo car isn’t some kind of replacement for the GT500. Ford can’t be that foolish.. right?
i doubt it. More like this stuff gets economized and trickles Dow the the gt500/cobra. would be amazing to have this suspension in all the top tier ‘Stangs.

but if Ford is moving to electric or hybrid, this might be a great send off to the petrol-only era.

It won’t, the rear suspension takes up the entire trunk. That alone would eliminate a majority of your sales base.

Ford needs to sell me the car so I can put it on all the tracks here in Europe.

I guess if you're looking to spend that much, not sure why you wouldn't just spend a little more to get the Ford GT? I mean it's a cool car, but that's supercar money without a supercar pedigree.

EcoBoost is a truck engine?
yup. 3.5TT comes in the F-150. Ford makes them in 1.6 all the way to 3.5. The 2.7TT needs to be in a Mustang instead of the 4-banger.

but it has a truck engine in it. :)
Pretty much the same scenario as the Dodge V10 engine that was originally developed for the launch of the '92 Dodge Viper and then moved over to the Dodge Ram pickup for the '94 model year.

Oh Wow
The H.O. 3.5L EcoBoost has 450hp and 510 lb-ft. of torque. That would be something in a Stang.

My impression of the GTD; bu bu bu bad to the bone!
Ownership of a GTD is out of my orbit, but I am delighted
Ford built it. The body work is a design foundation to share
with future street market models. The design touches ecstasy and
still looks very Mustang. Just one look, that's all it took. That sells cars.
