Mustang Dark Horse "market adjustments"

Yesterday I called a local dealer to find out about a new Dark Horse that's in its way to the dealership. They said they wanted a non-refundable $5k deposit plus a "market adjustment" of $20k. The price of the Dark Horse would have been $73k and change, but with the adjustment I would have ended up paying over $93k for the car. I thought that was ridiculous. For that money, I could get a Corvette or a Camaro ZL1 1LE or a GT500 (if I could find one).

What do you guys think about these market adjustments for the Dark Horse. Would anyone be willing to pay the 20k markup?

I didn’t even have to pay that much ADM for a “Golden Ticket” GT500 in the exact configuration I wanted.

If I won the lotto, money wouldnt be an issue and I have no issues getting a DH. Reality is we all have our own concept of what’s too expensive. For me, 65k was my comfort zone. As far as the op, I belong to the group who would think of getting a Mach 1 and spending the 20K on upgrades or a GT and spending 30K.…..just me.

Define “out perform”? So many people think slapping a whipple on a GT makes it better than a Shelby. This is far from the truth. 7 speed DCT, track suspension tuning, chassis stiffening, better cooling, wider stance, composite panels, CF driveshaft, better brakes….this list goes on.
Slap a whipple on a GT and put it on a racetrack against a GT500 and it’ll have its ass handed to it. It takes so much more than a 200hp bump to “out perform” a GT500. But as I said, too many fools think dyno numbers and 1/4 mile times are the be all, end all of “performance”.
A Porsche GT3 is still “just a 911”

All this AND don't forget, the absolute bulletproof, fully forged, 5.2 Liter motor. The motor and trans from a GT500 literally cost as much as a whole Mustang GT lol. Don't get me wrong the coyote is a great motor and I love em, but there's levels to this shit.

Yeah then there’s that lol. Something about certain car guys. Most of us enjoy what we got and don’t have to constantly whip out the rulers to measure our manhood. Then there’s others who feel like they have to bash everything they don’t have by saying they can make their car somehow “better” than everything else. It’s really pathetic.

I wouldn’t pay $73K. Hell, I wouldn’t pay $53K. There are still new ‘22 Mach 1’s with HP for $55K, which IMO, is a better Mustang.

Where? I'll go buy it now!
