Yeah buddy!
So where's the 'mid' ?Wrong
A. that engine is on top of the axle not behind itWrong, a setback is when a engine is moved back behind its original mounting location (being it looks like drag racing is your thing you would think you should know this) Now mid engine is anytime the engine is mounted between the front and rear axle regardless of what your opinion is of the definition. There are cars that are rear mid engine(c8 vette) or front mid engine ( ferrari california). Both however are still mid engine.
It’s essentially the same setup as a Ferrari 812, which some call a front mid engine because the bulk of the engine sits behind the front axle. But you’re correct that it’s not a traditional mid engine car (behind the driver).A. that engine is on top of the axle not behind it
B. everyone that isn't being pedantic generally means the motor is behind the driver when they say mid engined
I can't believe people actually thought this platform would support a mid engine design.
I am very curious to see how much that thing weighs, though.
Ooooooh.......I hope you're proven correct, but fear it will be a 3600 pound pig.As for weight, the 2023 Porsche GT3RS has a curb weight of 3,268lbs so I’d guess this car will be in that neighborhood. Might even be a hair lighter with all the carbon fiber on this car.
i doubt its lighter, the s550/650 is a fatty chassis. It’s essentially the same setup as a Ferrari 812, which some call a front mid engine because the bulk of the engine sits behind the front axle. But you’re correct that it’s not a traditional mid engine car (behind the driver).

This car does not sit on the S650 chassis. This is the GT3 race car that is tweaked to make it street legal.i doubt its lighter, the s550/650 is a fatty chassis.
oh. well then, okey doke. This car does not sit on the S650 chassis. This is the GT3 race car that is tweaked to make it street legal.
My understanding to date is that a Flat Rock body in white is shipped to MM whereby they proceed to carve it up. If you notice the fabricated rear cradle, it looks to have mounts that then mate with the body, near where the stock ones are. Up front you can see a K-member very similar to stock. While the suspension hardware is radically different than stock, the base foundation that it all attaches to isn't too far from what came on the original BIW.This car does not sit on the S650 chassis.
