I was at the local Ford dealership yesterday. I thought they had a 2024 on the lot. Turns out it was a Camaro.

Seriously, not joking. Almost impossible to tell apart from side view.

Do you really think it's that easier to tell a S550 from a current Camaro? Well it isn't.

If you can't look at your own link and see the difference, then it may be time for some glasses. The only view that makes it somewhat similar is the side view, because it overlays the 2. You could do and overlay of a Ferrari and a Vette and be similar. Doesn't mean they look the same, but each to their own.

I don't like the 24 mustang. Outside is an inbreed between a Camaro and a Challenger. Don't get me started on the video game, simulator, interior. Unless the drastically change the interior, I don't see myself purchasing another new Mustang. Guess I'll have to keep the S550 forever. Lol

But I do see the similarities to the Honda Accord. 😂

Of course I see the difference. I also see the difference between the S650 and the Camaro. They are both 2 door rear wheel drive coupes. They have always looked similar. The market has voted and the winner is the Mustang.

Actually from the side they do look almost identical. I think with a quick glance you wouldn't be able to choose.

Funny a lot of folks said that about the 18+ refresh and then when ahead and bought them. I'll reserve final comment until I actually drive the car. To me it looks pretty good in person.

the entire point you are missing is that the mustang is now missing the shoulder line, making it much more smooth sided, exactly like the camaro.

where the profiles the same? yeah. have been for many years. kind of the design of the car. there are other cars that share a similiar profile. But the difference is in the lines along the side, the grill, etc. the mustang now shares that with the camaro, and in the case of the DH< the charger as well.

even my 7 year old can quickly identify mustangs and camaros. showed him the new one without a horse on it and he was confused for a bit.

There’s also other similar details like the upward sloping rear quarter window, the notch in the rear/side upper fender for the tail lights (viewed from the side), the side markers, the subtle upward sloping line in the lower doors. The Camaro still has the superior overhangs, much shorter than the mustang’s overhangs.

Camaro and Mustang look totally different from every angle, but the new Accord front end does look a lot like the S650.

My dealer is expecting their 2024’s to start rolling in sometime in August. He’s got a Dark Horse coming too and he’s going to let me do the test drive with the tech when it comes off the truck and then drive a GT right after to compare the 2. I’m not crazy about the interior photos I’ve seen but I do like the exterior. All that to say I’m in the same camp, I’m reserving final judgement until I drive it.

Here's a photo where you can clearly see the distinctive shoulder line, which is pretty similar to the S550 shoulder line. I don't see anything at all on the Mustang that is EXACTLY like the Camaro as you say.

The most obvious thing when looking at a car is the large green house on the Mustang vs. the mail slot windows on the Camaro. And that hasn't even changed. You don't have to be able to see the big pony or the triple tail lights to ID it.

Agreed, it’s got a lot of S550 in it. IMO it’s really the second refresh of S550 and not totally deserving of a new designation. I suppose after 8 years they needed to call it a new designation to get some folks excited about it?
