I got a chance to drive my car this morning and I must say I am happy with the outcome. Definitely louder than stock and a little louder than stock with resonator delete H pipe, but not obnoxious. The pop is back upon upshifts, which I'm ambivalent on. Don't like it or hate it, it's just there. No drone, not as raspy as a standard X pipe, but similar in sound. I love that there is no more hourglass drop in pipe diameter now as well.

Spent some time with a level and got it sitting to my liking.

I have also started preparing for Ford Nationals in Carlisle. Took the front bumper off and got the new carbon pieces installed. Super happy with the look. I am also finally going to install my carbon splitter wickers that have been sitting in a box since last summer.

Man it feels good to tinker again, it's been too long. More tomorrow

The CF looks SO good with FPB and white stripes, Jaime! WOW!

Glad you're happy with the exhaust (as you ARE a picky kinda fella, my friend.) <wink>
Thanks bud.

Nah, I'm not picky. I just like what I like and don't stop till I get what I want. Oh wait..... 🙃

picked up my car today and I can see why you switched to the switchfire mid pipe. The Shelby Borla is pretty quiet! I’m gonna give it awhile before making up my mind on it though.

I did like the way it sounded, especially the deepness. It sounds louder than it is (from the outside) and is decently loud on acceleration. I just think it was too subtle at low speeds and at idle. The Switchfire sounds way better than an x or h resonator delete to me so I am glad I did it. It was still worth it to me to step up to a full 3" diameter piping and the Switchfire is the largest mid pipe I have seen. I even like the tips better than the stock ones. Not just the branding.

I think the Shelby kit is the answer for the track guys getting nabbed for DB levels, and I think that was SA's intention.

It's been a very busy last few weeks, but Ford Nationals at Carlisle, PA was yet again a huge success. I may have said this before, but if you are Ford fan, you really need to attend one of these events in the future. So much offered for everyone, no matter your taste in Ford vehicles. Vendors galore, representatives galore, parts, live dyno testing, small track events, burnouts, swap meets, food, drink, everything.

The wife and I had a great time with Team Shelby Northeast and everyone who attended. My car ended up taking first place in my class, and even won best in show from the Team Shelby members. First place in Carlisle is pretty great by itself, but having won best in show by votes from fellow Team Shelby members is on a different level, and I am extremely grateful to all who voted for my car.

@Tatonka it was great to have met you and your beautiful wife. Your Signature Edition GT350 is quite amazing as well. Congratulations on winning a top choice award from Team Shelby Northeast!

It's obvious that we are "Twins" haha. Of course you are Danny DeVito and without a doubt I am Arnold Schwarzenegger haha . The likeness is uncanny.

Lord Dark Helmet, it was an awesome time getting to meet you guys and bomb around to the events! You and your wife were top shelf people in my book! This year definitely set the bar extremely high as far as a good time goes. BTW the pics of your car don't do it justice. Now if we can only get PTCF somewhere on it.....

I have to agree with JMEO. If you are able to attend one of these events, it is absolutely worth the effort. It is great to speak directly with the manufacturers and fellow enthusiasts. It will probably cost me a large sum of money in the future for another car but again, so worth it! We cannot wait until next year!

@Tatonka are the helmets prizes for placing in the show? Pretty cool regardless.

Yes sir. JMEO won best in show and received the large one. Everyone else in the top ten received the more fuel efficient versions.

In all seriousness, I think the little one is cooler.

No, I just swapped out the mid muffler that came in the kit for a Switchfire mid pipe. I am not sure how the Shelby (by Borla) mufflers compare to the Borla Atak mufflers. They do look similar as far as my research has shown, but they could be different internally. In my opinion The cold start up and idle do not seem to be much louder than stock as far as decible, but it seems to have more bass.

Looking forward to test driving it on Wednesday, weather depending.
Some may have seen my thread/posts on the other forum, but this is also the route I went.

Long story short, the Shelby mufflers ARE the Atak mufflers. Only difference is the stamping of the name and the style of tips. I spoke with someone fairly high up at Borla and confirmed all of this.

It's funny, three of us have gotten the Shelby by Borla and loved the sound but agreed it's too quiet and switched to the Switchfire mid-pipe and loved it :) Sounds like a fourth person is on their way to joining the same camp @Evolvd

I love the ShelbAtak (r) sound since it's deeper and wilder than stock, sounds better at idle and tooling around at low speeds, and rips up top. It can hurt your ears in a tunnel, and I've had multiple people tell me they heard me coming from close to a mile away  But if you put it in Normal or Quiet, it's perfectly docile and livable in any conditions, and not annoying even one bit. Very wide range of flexibility.

On the pure Shelby Borla system, it ranged from very quiet to moderate, with Sport and Track sounding exactly the same (no louder in Track)

As a back story for those that don't know, I got my Shelby by Borla system and loved the super deep sound but felt it was too tame. I was going to live with it, but then the mid-pipe was defective and blew shards of fiberglass out the back alllll over the rear of the car for a few hundred miles. Every single drive resulted in needing to power-wash the whole car since air or hose water wouldn't take the glass fibers off, and I certainly wasn't going to wipe them with a rag.

So I called Borla to complain and sent them pictures of the huge mess it was making. They agreed it was defective and shipped me a new system and I sent mine back to them. They covered shipping, too (as they should, but it was still appreciated). Got chatting with someone higher up there and that's how I learned about the Atak and Shelby Borla mufflers and pipes being identical and the ONLY difference is the mid pipe style. I said I was grateful for the defective unit swap assistance, but not thrilled to have a couple hours more of shop time ahead of me to get the defective one off and the new one on, and that's when they offered me the Switchfire in return for the hassle and apologies for the annoyance of the constant glass all over.

When the new system arrived it had a separate box with the Switchfire. Figured I'd install the loud choice first since I could always take that off and go back to the Shelby Borla resonated H pipe. But now that the Switchfire is on it's just glorious. I'll have the Shelby Borla mid pipe that will stay with the car in case I or anyone else ever wants it. Good to have options that can just be swapped in.

Had to have a bit of fun with the stickers and popped “Brola” on the car for a few weeks 🤣 It’s off of there now

I have some pics from Carlisle. We drove down as a group of 21. Three of our club won hardware. It was my first time there and I hope to enjoy more. The roads from Holtwood to Carlisle were incredible and I have not downloaded the cards onto my laptop yet.
I will say parking on sidehill 535 sucks to keep the drivers door open to get in and out.
Our club had a tent which was so nice to have. It took me two whole days to walk everything but the upoer hil where the trucks were parked. And gate 5 is by far the easiest way out when the day is winding down.

Actually after driving with it for over 1K miles now I quite enjoy the Shelby resonator sound. It livened up a bit after a few hundred miles and now it’s perfect. It rips hella loud at WOT but remains nice and docile with a little rumble at idle and cruising.
