Looking at the owners manual and threads in the main forum about base GT/base EB models, it appears that at least in the base GT, if you double tap the TC/SC button, it changes to Sport mode. Does the V6 do this? The last time I drove one, it did not, but I don't know if it was operator error or not. See snap from owners manual...

I tried this on my V6 awhile back....Unfortunately there is no sport mode activated... I tried every possible combination of pressing that button.

I'm wondering if it works for an M/T vehicle, since there is no 'S' to put the gear shift into. I was impressed with the throttle response in 'S' for the A/T vehicles I've driven.

Modes are an included extra on the EB and GT only.

a pity since the SnowWet mode is a useful safety feature that imo
should have been incuded on the V6 .

That's quite annoying. I have been able to get past all the other items that the V6 lacks. Such a shame they're doing this to a great all-around powertrain.

Yep but Ford seems clueless on this unfortunately. They could have done a V6 premium but wanted to force people into the EB which is a mistake. Seems the V6 is selling and the GT over the EB in general. Going to be hard to get past that stigma of a 4.

If it sounded better I'd go for the EB. The best exhaust sound is actually stock. The rest of them sound like angry bees. The 3.7 is a lot of fun to rev out, especially with a 3.55 rear gear, M/T car.

First off, no sport mode??? God dammit Ford.

Second, you're exactly right.

The thing is that while I understand why Ford is trying to put out the EB more and put down the V6, they seem to have forgotten that the buyer is still gonna buy what they want, and I personally want to believe that the majority of shoppers are educated somewhat.

And you're right on stigma too, because wgo wants a Mustang Econobox.

And at the rate most will try and mod their sixers, Ford could be putting out aftermarket parts and such, and making more money!

I'm just sitting here with popcorn just in case the EB doesn't go the way Ford wants it to.

Can you at least turn off the traction control?

Is there a way to turn Sport Mode on and have it stay on at restart?

I'm not entirely sure but I do not think you can force it to stay on a setting each driving session (using the toggle switches that is). This question might have also already been covered in the I4 2.3L forum so you should check there.

If you're driving a manual car, the only thing you're hypothetically missing out on with a "sport" mode is a more aggressive throttle map. Solution? Be more aggressive with your right foot if need he.

"Snow" mode is likely similar to the standard settings with a slackened throttle map and some conservative traction control thresholds.
