I got a 2015 auto and when i have it in S mode the car jerks usually when I'm at a stop. Like I'm at a red light then go to accelerate then it jerks back and forth a bit then takes off. I've only experienced this in S mode not D.

FIY car is stock. Wondering if anybody had similar experience and if you guys can lend your expertise. Thanks

Mine does jerks in both S and S+/- . And I have weird slip in transmission( Like rpm raise before applying any throttle input) from 3-4 under light load which the ford believes is common thing. I have raised this concern with another dealership and trying my luck today.

The rpm rise to shift into 4th has always been there since I bought the car.
It's probably to do with the more aggressive programing in S-mode.
It won't let you shift into 4th if you're not at a certain MPH.

The jerkiness is concerning depending on the situation.
I once downshifted to 1st to cruise it and it jerked like crazy and always does when going into 1st.

I also also noticed that the transmission never downshifts into 1st in S until it's either completely stopped or under 5mph.

Thats what exactly mine does. I would not dare shiting manualy from 2-1 as I hear a weird metal ting noise from the transmission (gave me almost heartattack like my tx would fall apart) while doing so. Usually I downshift to 3-2 for some crackles and pops and just stay der.

Not sure this 3-4 gear slip issue exists even with our tuned 3.7 friends out here !!

I only drive in S and I paddle shift all the time, I only down shift to 2nd at a low speed. I also have a SCTx4 93 tuner that allows me to program the shifting firmness from factory to a +25% which I have done from 1st thru 5th it shifts very chisp and firm with no slippage.

K&N drop on stock box
SK throttle body spacer

Yeah that's basically what mine does. The rpm would jump like really high out of no where and it'll jerk back and forth a bit. I've been noticing this happens more around the 30mph range. I'm guessing the car doesn't know if it should be in 3rd or 4th and goes back and forth and thus it stutters back and forth. Let me know what you find out. I'm gonna try to take it to the dealers when I have time too.

Picked up my stang from service center yesterday. The ford technican said that they have performed all checks and inspections and could not find any error code and no issues mechnically or electrically. They even tried to convince me that 3-4 slip was common as the car requires higher rpm and speed to shift the gear and hence rpm would raise a bit before it could re engage into next gear. Hopefully I get this fixed when I get my tune from MPT :D

This happens to me too, usually when I'm driving in traffic and it's not sure what gear it wants to be in. Also I've noticed if I floor it from a light say... It will keep the revs super high and not change gear for way too long.

D mode is far too conservative a tune
S mode is far too aggressive of a tune (But only sometimes). Although if you use the paddle shifters it doesn't do any of the weird stuff.

Sport mode is a cluster fuck to me personally.... I drive an auto but hate when I back out and sometimes accidentally have it in and the car gets no where and makes you feel like you're on an old roller coaster lmao

The gear holding in S is part of the beast I believe, and it can be awkward in traffic. However, if you do an autocross or get to drive a low traffic, tight winding mountain road, it all makes sense and is a hoot!

Update:

Brought car to dealers and they confirmed it was the throttle body and replaced it.
Next up is the door latch.

So true with S mode being aggressive. It just wants to be high rpms all the time which makes for a not fun drive in traffic. It really encourages the use of the paddle shifter.
