Why is there so much hate from the 2011+ community?

I think a lot of people were disappointed with the results that were released by the magazines. People wanted a killer car and the 2015 is a mild improvement over the 2014.
Mild Improvement? Geezus, what an understatement!!! Have you been on the track with this thing yet? My stock 2015 Mustang GT with Performance Package outperformed a Malch M3 BMW at Mason-Dixon track last weekend! The generation 6 Chassis is being compared with European Iron such as BMW, Audi, and Saab...straight line 'grunt" be damned (there's a LOT more to this steed than meets the eye). :ford:

I'm not buying the mild improvement argument either, this is a quote taken from the vendor build forum:

"We took Project 6G to its first tack day to get some baseline of the car in stock form, before we start doing our thing. The results were both Surprising and amazing! The S550 is for real! Myself and NASA Mustang driver Terry Fair of Vorshlag, were completely floored by the cars stock performance. We were both able to lap between 2.5-4 second a lap faster then any Boss 302 we have tested! (Terry even drove them back to back)! I can not wait to make it even better!"

Phylguy and Seabee, potential is not the same thing as how it is packaged as OEM. As OEM, performance wise it is just a mild improvement. And by performance, I very much mean all aspects, not just acceleration.

Sure as an overall car it is very improved, but isolating performance; it is simply a mild improvement. To some, performance means more than everything else and those some are not just track junkies. Like I mentioned before, it's weight increase is the elephant in the room. If you improve upon that, the car will change dramatically.

Drop the exhaust resonator and stock exhaust and you've dropped over 70 pounds of lard as well as added about 15-20 BHP with any street legal aftermarket exhaust system. I'm not disappointed at all...the weight distribution overall (even with the added mass) is excellent. When a professional rally driver can best his own lap time by over four seconds versus a gen. 5 Boss 302, you know Ford did something right! :amen:

Well, if someone like me who never liked mustangs at all suddenly purchased and loves one... I can see if the opposite is true for someone else. But I too have noticed most of the hate stemming from '11-'14, so they're probably just suffering from not being the cool car on the block anymore.

I know it's probably a small sample, and everyone is an Internet keyboard commando, but I just left the anyting 2011+ Coyote group on Facebook because I was tired of hearing how the 2015s are garbage and they are the bastard offspring of a Fusion and Accord. Hell, some of them went as far as saying they'd rather have a Charger over a new Mustang. I mean, c'mon man... :frusty:

There's your problem right there. You could have prevented this whole situation.

I'm a 2014 Mustang GT owner and I don't hate the new Mustang. I think I like the look of my 14 a little better than the 15 but I have not had a chance to drive a new one yet so I'm going to reserve judgement on the total package.

I would probably buy one at some point but I don't buy first year models and it's not financially smart for me to trade in a car that I've only had for a little over a year on something new.

I have a 2015 LE and a 2011 GTCS love them both, although the 2015 is more refined.

everyone has their own opinion, some are jealous

I think a lot of the negativity from the 10 - 14 crowd stems from the change from retro to a more modern look. Many of the buyers of the 5th Gen crowd bought them for the throwback retro styling. The S550 is a much more modern looking car, which would naturally turn off the retro group. I have heard this first hand from several s197 owners. The weight gain and arguably minimal HP gain don't help either.

Either way, this s197 owner loves his S550!

I had an 05, 08, and 13 and that gen no longer exists to me, yesterdays news. I just have zero interest in anything but the 15.

Do people really not buy cars cause they weigh too much? I could care less about that.

A base Mustang GT beating a Boss around a track is considered a mild improvement?

Not sure what more you expected...

I'm also hearing a lot of Ecoboost Hate. "Not a Real Mustang". A GT, V6, and EB are all real mustangs. Yes the GT is awesome and has "that" sound, but without the smaller engines the Mustang could have died in the 70's. I know each remodel comes with it's detractors, but I have always seen each gen as a mustang. I remember when the 10's came out everyone hated the diffuser or "diaper". It never fails.

Weighs more, but it still weighs less than the modern-day market competition, and it's still faster than the previous gen Mustangs.

Yeah, total failure indeed.

I was originally considering a 2014 GT since they are being heavily discounted now, until I saw/drove the 2015 in person. As many have said, the little improvements seriously add up and the overall refinement is huge. Seeing them side by side at a dealer really shows the aged body lines and interior of the outgoing model.

the same reason an iphone 5S owner hates the iphone 6, or a samsung galaxy s4 owner that hates the s5, etc.

they no longer have the superior, latest and greatest product.
