Have they gotten to the point of PnP harnesses for our cars yet? I asked quite awhile back to another shop about this and it required a lot of custom wiring for their race car.

Lol do you actually get customers wanting a MOTEC on their street cars?? Seems like such a waste on anything that still has a license plate.

I am one, I will have it on my street OEM no mods other than bolt ons eventually. I am going to do an all out build but my first mod is to start with the Motec. ITs hard to justify and swallow the $$$ pill until you have been in a vehicle with ECU with MoTeC like capabilities.

So what the MoTec does is enhance the mods a person has already done ? Guess I’m just a old fart the GT500 has so much factory hp not sure what I would do with more !!! LOL
motec is just super top tier engine management do-anything-you-need level stuff.
like, Texas mile deep into 4 digit hp levels type stuff.

its also very much a get what you pay for type situation.

Not to mention it’s only as good as the person who tunes it. I have yet to see anyone run a full stand-alone EMS in a daily driver who didn’t have problems with idle or low-load performance.

to get that stuff right you've gotta spend a lot of time making it perfect (like ford does) and a lot of times people don't do that. with my cobra i had to take it back 3 times to get it just right.

oem's put a lot into making things run in all kinds of situations, if you wanna change the formula you gotta put in that work to make it right.

When you do a tune you tend to only adjust closed-loop operations which happens at full-throttle. The rest of the time the car is in an open-loop.
The only time a S550 mustang is in open loop is when it is cold started. Goes closed after about 30 seconds.

Open lap happens at start up, low to medium throttle acceleration, and engine braking. This info is easily googled.
