Didn't happen for me...so I haven't been in a service department in a few years. COVID has changed the industry. Also, I get it, shit breaks. Just didn't appreciate your comment. I actually don't have the tick anymore...just took an oil additive probably because the dealer put shitty oil when I paid for a "premium" plan.
Ford dealers only use Motorcraft. Premium plans or base plans don’t get different oil.

Maybe shitty oil is the wrong description...It should have been synthetic and not regular oil with the premium service plan. I checked my purchase paperwork and I did pay for the premium service plan that states synthetic oil. What other reason would a metallic ticking start right after an oil change? I initially thought the tech hit or left something near the belt/pully, but a few internet searches confirmed that the noise was the Typewriter tick that many GEN 3 engines have.

As of right now, she sounds like what a 50k car should sound like...no loud metallic clangs while idling.

Looking at my service paperwork, it doesn't state that the oil used was synthetic...does it? I should have been more pushy in the service department to make sure they used the correct oil.

You are why people hate mustang guys. If I had to guess you're a "mechanic" who thinks they are gods gift. I was just asking, since I'm new to Ford, what the service papers look like. I guess you wouldn't know.

This makes me LOL. No I am not a “mechanic”.
