I accepted “help of sticky”and smeared a very thin layer of it on before sticking it.

Before all that though, I held the pieces up and stuck them in place with painters tape to get a feel for the gap between sections. That’s the only trick to it. Temporarily hold the pieces in place. You’ll see what I mean.

Did you put "help of sticky" on the car or on the tape?

I've always placed the parts and then pulled the backing tape off as I went.

On adhesive tape. It helps you sticky.

6 months. It's been washed and even gone through automated car washes. It's fine. Just like the day I stuck it on.

Thanks again. Looking forward to getting these on the car. Under close look, they're not perfect but I wouldn't expect that, especially at the price point. Heck, one of the reasons I want these is to cover a scrape in one of the factory moldings. (Delivered with the scrape and figured I'd have more damage getting it fixed...)

Thanks for the advice. Mine are on. I used the "help for sticky" on the rear pieces and one of the over the window pieces before I ran out. I used 3M stuff on the rest.

On the corner pieces, I found they were slightly touching the paint at the very end by the doors, so I put a small bit of PPF underneath. One bit of advice to those doing these. I found it helpful to use the 3M Adhesion Promoter on the door pieces. This way, I could work it into place with and pull the backing tape as I went.

If installed correctly, it doesn't touch the paint. I love mine and it was easy to install.

What's your thoughts after doing it - do you miss the factory black trim at all?

Thanks! I really like the look. Friends that have seen it say the same. I also think it accentuates the shape of the rear side windows which is kind of lost in my opinion with all the black.

Yea, I've been debating doing the same... more so of an on/off the fence decision for me because I have black rims too and nothing else is "shiny" (ie: chrome/silver) as far as exterior parts.

Every time I see this thread or the others with same topic/pics, I think if doing it - even after seeing other "red" S550's with the chrome trim added... but ... just ... haven't ... gone for it .... LOL

would have been nice if ford had a "retro package" option for the cars and you could have gotten it from the factory as a package with other chrome bits. honestly that was one of the things that drew me to the 50th LE, so many great little cues from the original 60's era mustangs and the 'murdered out' look has been done to death - when the factories start doing it it's time to let it go, time for the pendulum to swing back the other way a bit. start making these gorgeous cars look elegant vs angry

Well, I missed my window. Wanted to do this to mine. AM doesn't carry the part any more. All I can find is trim on eBay, comes from China so a little hesitant about that. Definitely would work with the Red and the rims. Of anyone has run across this Speedform product, let me know.
