I completely understand why McLaren is doing it, but that said very few of the younger choiceā€™s are hardly performing at an F1 level in my opinion. Ricardo did himself in with the exit move he pulled at Redbull. Iā€™ll leave alone him running around with a Louis Ve ton backpack.
Itā€™s not what they did but how they did it. Yes, F1 is a cut throat business (arenā€™t they all) but there is always a right/wrong way to do things.

Completely agree thereā€™s a right and wrong way. Iā€™ve never understood why thereā€™s so much drama around F1. Itā€™s worse the six hens at brunch on a Saturday morning.

So Iā€™m watching the 2014 season. What the hell happened to Williams. Theyā€™re so strong in 2014. Also, Hamilton is one of the greatest drivers. Most of the races, heā€™s setting faster lap times than Rosberg, has better tire management and uses less fuel than the rest of the field. Damn.

What happened to Williams doesnā€™t fit todays pc narrative. Look up who took over in 2013.

Not really finding much info from 2013 to 2014. Maldonado out and Massa in. Switch to Mercedes engine. Different car design. Pretty much any team running the Mercedes engines did well.

I did see Masi working the Red Bull pit wall, in 2014. At least it looked like Masi. Now I see the conspiracy of what happened in 2021.

Finished the 2015 season and halfway through 2016. Really funny that they call Felipe Nasr, Fred, to differentiate between him and Massa.

If they keep the tyres wrapped in those heating blankets up to the very last moment, then why do the drivers still have to drive in that wavy manner to warm up the tyres? Aren't they already warmed up?

^^ As he said...plus there is a tremendous amount of heat loss by the time they actually get on track and can get back to heating them up.

Just wait until they get rid of tire blankets.
Will definitely be interesting as the current tires are gonna slide all over the place. Wonder if Pirelli will address this with beforehand.

TL;DR, but did you guys already cover in this thread the pricing it costs to attend a race? Holy cow. I get it, the F1 clientele and all that, but geeze, theyā€™ve outpriced the average working man even remotely dreaming about going to a race in person. $6XX a person for Gen admission to Austin this year. $1K and you for any kinda seat.

Just went to an Indy race this weekend. Great seats, pit passes, and all that for around $100 a person.

Sorry if this was discussed.

Your not wrong. First year at Cota when it opened, general admission was about a hundred bucks. Parking wasnā€˜t out of hand either. 3-day reserved was 300$ish. Itā€™s gotten progressively worse. Montreal is way less then Cota at this point. If you want a great fan experience and love racing, go to Cota for Motogp. No comparison. As fan experiences go, Motogp is second to none. The financial cost for an F1 race doesnā€™t affect me, but Iā€™d rather watch it at home these days. The cars arenā€™t any where as visceral as they use to be.
