A buddy of mine sent me this picture yesterday asking if it's a new 2023 Mustang. Sorry for the picture quality it was taken in a downpour.

I said maybe an electric version and he said it has exhaust pipes.

I'm clueless. Can someone identify what it is?

It appears to be a S550, with modified taillights. I've seen those taillights from others' cars, but I forget who makes them.

Looks like they just put on circular taillights to me.

So somebody paid good money to put ugly tail lights on a Mustang to make it look like a POS import? That's crazy... I guess some people just gotta customize but I can think of a lot better ways to do it and they'd look a lot better. LOL

IMO the factory tail lights on a Mustang are part of what makes them look so good and immediately identifiable as a MUSTANG!

I think it's supposed to look like the Ford GT taillights ?

Yes, that's the idea.
The trouble is, the angle is completely wrong, and it's impossible not to notice it. That, even more than the round shape itself, is what makes them so ugly.

I couldn't agree more.
But there's a catch. We love the American red lights, while Americans seem to love our white ones. I guess Ford would save us a lot of money if they installed them the other way around to begin with. :giggle:

I saw these round tail lights on Cameron Alford's Mustang build on the Carmaspeed YT channel. It's not something I would do, but I can see the appeal for some.
