Spoke with Ford Performance yesterday, my car is scheduled to be delivered between 6-3 and 6-9 but its still setting in Flat Rock. They told me to check back middle of next week but more than likely it will be pushed back. My original order was 7-30-21, with a build date of 10-25-21, that was moved three times before being canceled. Glad its getting close I'm ready for this part to be over...

The “can’t order” line is strange. When I first tried to order in Sept 2021, I was told to wait till 2022 orders open. It was totally wrong. Ordered from Granger instead. Who knows why some dealerships play that game

Back in February I was shopping new GTs. I got all sorts of bad info from local dealers.

One ordering manager from a large dealership told me that 2022’s are not available to be ordered and won’t be until May and delivered until late summer or early fall. I even showed him Granger’s website who at the time had two 2022s on the lot. Still denied it was possible.

Of course, this same dealership had a couple new 2021s on the lot that they were advertising at about $2,500 off MSRP but when I contacted them they were now saying MSRP.

So the ordering manager was either incredibly stupid, or trying to get me to buy one of the 2021s

Unless @Zach@Granger say so, I won’t believe what those dealer managers say. As @ScottyRyan2018 said, they may have other motives. That is not only Ford dealerships doing that, in my experience

for the most part dealers don't know crap or they just say stuff in hopes of selling something they already have. you can learn and know more than most dealers by just spending half a day here....

I'm not aware the order banks are closed, but the window for production is closing. Mustang MY23 order banks open in October. If ordering a Mach 1 HP, the build has to complete before it gets too cold, due to the tires. Can't confirm how late you can order, but it seems September would be the latest date to build. Shipping from factory to dealer is approximately 30 days, if not more.

My 21 was delivered on November 4th in northern Minnesota. Going by the warning should not have been driving it at all as it was below 45 degrees. I drove it a handful of times before the snow flew just to drive it some but took it easy and babied the car commuting to work.

If you don’t mind me asking what was your order date? I just order 5/30 for Grabber Blue w/ HP and was told 4 months by dealership.

Sorry, to try to summarize:

January I worked with a dealer in Tampa putting together an order but after the dealer told me the color was not available for 2022 they never got back to me…no confirmation to sign, no email from ford, etc. The last correspondence from them was Jan 24 telling me they would send me the available colors once the manager was back…never did get that info. Then today the same sales person called me that “my order” arrived.

February I reached out to Grainger, they quickly sent me a buyer order, I signed electronically, paid their deposit, got a confirmation from the dealer and from Ford that the order was submitted. This car is still in “unscheduled-clean” status.

Both cars were ordered as 22Mach1, 600a, Manual, Cloth Recaro, Handling pack, Rear Seat Delete. January I selected Twister Orange before I knew it wasn’t available, and February with Grainger I picked Eruption Green as they supplied me with the 2022 color pallet.

I don’t care for the Cyber Orange from pictures but haven’t seen it in person. I agree securing the car missing the RSD is much better than manufacturer-purgatory but based on the window sticker for this car it’s current pricing (not pre-increase), plus the much higher dealer fee ($995) and the additional 1% I’d pay in sales tax (in state purchase) vs use tax (out of state purchase). So at MSRP vs the deal from Grainger it’s almost $7000 more…as this is a vehicle I want but don’t need it’s pretty tempting to chance it an keep waiting.

I am going there on Monday to see if we can make a deal.

Yeah, I don’t think they were being malicious, just seemed to be a sales guy that wasn’t familiar with factory orders. He was really nice, they did come up on my trade but wouldn’t go off current MSRP and wouldn’t discount to the original January MSRP from when I asked about ordering it.

Since you mentioned closed by dealers, when I made the decision to go Mach 1, decided to use a local dealer, I live in a small town. Well, he proceeded to tell me his quota of Mustangs has been reduced by FMC because his Mustang sales were way down so he gave me the name of dealers to use in Orlando. I decided to order thru Granger.
