Greetings all. I removed the contraption yesterday afternoon.
Thought I would post a pic for everyone amusement!
I am going to store it away for my kids to find when that time comes and wonder wth is this!

Imagine the engineering time and money spent on tooling and testing to develop that, only to have it immediately removed by a good 75% of owners. I originally thought it was part of the emissions system, only to find out on this site what it really does.

I was aware of the sound tube and most owners rip them out (thanks for the reminder BTW). I'd never seen the contraption in its entirety. Sure does look complicated. No wonder car prices are soo high. Would be nice to have a sound tube delete option when ordering. Seriously!

What does it actually do?

It is supposed to enhance the driver experience by adding engine sound to the cockpit. I think it just adds noise. Ripped mine out years ago.

I ripped mine out as soon as I got the car home. I already had the cap and plug waiting. Didn’t even bother taking the nut off the stud on the firewall. A good tug and it popped off.

Pretty standard plug, ask for the size, op could tell you?

Then you could measure yours after removal.
