almost 8 months of waiting, got it yesterday.

Can say, I think its worth it. only 100 miles, and doing break in procedures over next few days. but its comfortable, has power, and she enjoys it, the panniers are lost nowhere to be found. so got an IOU

Awesome! Will you guys be taking any mini trips on it? Did it come with hard bags or are those add-ons?

I like that you guys are wearing the proper safety equipment. While it can be a little warm at times, it’s usually not too bad if you don’t focus your attention on it. I always say: “better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. Ride safe!

Honestly, I paid for them, but the dealership has no clue where the bags etc are. as hard as that is to believe, I read a lot of people are waiting weeks or months for them to show up. backordered. but once they arrive I will be having them tossed on and I would like to go on small trips for first time in my life.

Its so much better than my harley andprev naked gsxs. I missed wind protection, her and me had the best ride we've had in years, no wind buffeting, nice position, she loves the new seat, the grab bars for her shecouldnt get over how nice it is for her to sit back and had a handle to hold onto instead of holding onto me 24/7

that said, the dealerships service center sucked balls! they had my handlebar on literally as off as could be, handed me the bike and never even did PDI, levers, controls, everything was literally completely lose. I went off, had no fuel in tank, I said how the fuck am I supposed to leave with no fuel?

sales guy was legit nice, he said dont bring bike back for service. he said they are literally all new and lazy.

when they corrected bar, the scratched up the bar from wrong placement etc. its petty, but I said, are they going to fix it or compensate me for it? it was moved to correct spot but now I have metal to metal marks.

he said we can get you new bars etc. I said but then those same guys would have to have my bike again to install? I dont trust them. I said I dont even trust them with my bags. I said give me the stuff and I will be installing

The sales guy said.. well its possible, let me check with manager/owner. Find out price of the bar and we can credit you the $ of a new bar to you or we can give you a new bar. (the marks dont bother me much) but if they will toss me 200-400 dollars for the bar, hell yeah. gimme dat.

After the experience I was weary leaving the parking lot thinking something wasn't assembled, so I was real cautious.-

But I made it home, then I went and re adjusted EVERYTHING.literally nothing was correct in proper placement on the bars levers handles nothing. took about 30 minutes. all snugged up and such. seems alright now.

The bars dont even matter to me, but the guy tossed the idea of a credit back, so im game. Honestly waiting 2hours for a bike to be REprepped, and then still having to fix the shit was annoying. so whatever they offer me I will take. I do all my own work so no big deal.

Lol. So no flip flops then? Got stuck in an accident yesterday on the QEW (Similar to Interstates in the US). Bumper to bumper stopped. Young “kid” stuck in the next lane for a minute on a little older GSX-R 600 wearing a muscle shirt, shorts and believe it or not, flip flops. My wife commented we might get stuck again for him once we’re out of this mess...

We ride. Safety gear is a must!

Nice bike! Brings back visions of my previous Honda VFR.

ive been down, a few times, but I had track bikes, stunt bikes, etc. so I learned real quick the cost of protection. I have the proper gear for her and me in everything.

I just sold a helmet/2 jackets/protection/plates/gloves to a new rider, he was interested in a jacket I had for sale for 300, came out, super nice kid. like legit nice. He is probably 18-20 and in ROTC Air Force program to be a pilot (actually is a pilot I guess) he came out with 400 bucks.

I gave him everything I had, 1200 bucks worth of gear. I said pay it forward. brand new jackets I never wore/didnt use, new helmet with intercom, alpine star level 2 protection.

Ha, he even sawmy furry helmet I used to wear in little motorcycle gatherings for kids and such, he said that is so cool! I said you like that? he said he does tutoring at school for kids and wants to ride to the school (he got a little ninja 250) I said its yours, wear the helmet cover and flaunt it for the kids.

lemme get some pics

Here they are.

Gave him2 jackets, alpinestars was 600 bucks,, the dainese was 250, wore once, (this jacket was a hair small for the size) its like they undercut this one a hair. no big deal. didnt wear itdue to that. but he was smaller than me so fit him perfect. back protectors 75 a piece for CE level 2 nucleon KRi2

Got him the. helmet with sena intercom and photocromatic visor (290 helmet + 220intercom) my gf used it til we got her a better fitting shark helmet. some gloves, and this furry!

When I was new, someone helped me out with some used gear so I just paid it forward. Gave him some motorcycle cleaners and such and ear plugs to let him try that. Id rather him be safe than not be able to afford my gear. I had this all listed around 900.

He drove over 2.5 hours away to come get my 1 item, so made it worth his while. lol

I am going to get another one one day.- legitly fun wearing these around, but. it cuts off ventilation a good bit. can get toasty in middle of summer. I only use it on a rare event.

I like these 3.

@FreePenguin, that‘s a great testimony brother! You didn’t forget the time when someone helped you with gear, when they didn’t have to and you took the opportunity to pay it forward. The young Air Force pilot will never, ever forget what you did for him either. I’m guessing when he gets his wings (if he doesn’t have them already), his fellow pilots will probably give him a call sign that‘s inspired by the fuzzy helmet that you gave him. I love it!

Absolutely. My son just came to visit us a month ago and he was very excited about riding motorcycles with me. He had taken a safety course 5 years earlier, but procrastinated about sending the paperwork in to get his MC endorsement. I told him that I was looking forward to riding with him when he came to visit, but there was one catch, he could only ride my motorcycles if he had a license. That lit a fire under him and he enrolled in a course here in Florida while he was visiting. His first three days here, he was in class from 5PM to 11PM. The day after he completed the class and received his paperwork, I took him to the DMV to get his endorsement and the following day we rode 242 miles together. He’s a good rider, but I needed him to do it the right way and I’m glad that he finally did. The refresher was also a good thing for him.

This.

Full gear is the only reason I'm still here. Deer have no regard for motorcycles.
