In my book, walking away means you open the door of the car after the crash and literally walk away.

Being cut out of the car and being taken to the emergency room doesn't quite constitute walking away. He was pulled out of the car by a firefighter and ambulanced away from the crash scene.
Yeah, he walked away from the hospital.

Dude didn't walk away, look at the A pillar, that thing was cut with a firefighter saw, and the post says he is in the trauma center, just that he will make it... which, is still pretty amazing considering the pictures.
Those of us that have been in crashes understand the “walk away” statement. This is why I joked about the incident and expressed interest in parts from the car.
The Mrs and I were in a pretty bad MC accident yet we walked away. Broken bones and potential internal injuries we were air lifted to a hospital. I didn’t want to go but the internal injury statement via paramedics and the look my better half had on her face convinced me to go to the hospital. I was kept overnight just to be “observed”. I still consider that “walking away”.
Cutting you out of a car will always get you a ride to the hospital, especially if you have the means to pay for it.

60... yeah lol
Good you are okay obviously.

I just think they are building a "foundation" for a case in court with the "filter came loose" -IMO
I agree that something seems awfully off base with the oil filter statement/remark being blatantly posted by SM on his IG page.

The GT350 in question has a belly pan like the GT/EB w/PP's. The oil filter is ABOVE the enclosed belly pan. IF the oil filter came loose, oil will hit the hit engine block causing smoke and being under pressure at the supposed "60mph", oil will spray for sure, but most fluid will get deflected by the belly pan, and the engine bay side skirting/wheel well liners.

IF so much oil filled the belly pan and from the "blowback due to traveling speed, where's the slick on the road?

Let's really discuss this ... because if an oil filter suddenly came loose - and the car was traveling at say the "60mph" that SM is putting on his IG blurb:

- @60mph @"x"RPM's how much oil is going to be pumped out of the engine onto belly pan that would saturate the roadway via an under car trail?

- Not to mention IF there was such an event, the FIRST inkling of an oil filter spraying would be an immediate smell of burning oil as it hits the hot engine, smoke from under hood - and if the driver isn't slowing down, a Spy Hunter-like smoke scene from the oil splashing all along the hot exhaust... At that point, would you all agree the driver wouid be slowing down and pulling off, rather than continuing at speed?

There's a lot of questions to be asked.

The vehicle's black box and modules will have recorded all events - even a drastic loss in oil psi IF the oil filter came loose and was spraying volumes of oil.

The "oil filter came loose" is a grab by SM - because he's got contacts and is a so called "online influencer" with followers.

Has there been any Class Action about S550 Shelby oil filters coming loose or being the cause of ANY documented accident? None that I can find - so again, the "oil filter came loose" is extremely suspect.

How many Track Attack Shelby S550's had their oil filters come loose and oil down the track or cause the drivers to go off track and wreck?

What we have is an inexperienced driver that knows little about proper handling of high horsepower and torque. There are far too many joyriding when they should be in road school classes first.

With a bill more than his car 🤣
If this guy has no health insurance and is crashing a GT350, he likely won't be purchasing expensive cars anytime soon.

Yes, but I think it was listed more in response to someone suggesting it would show a "drastic loss in oil PSI..." which the EDR will not show. Ford might have access to that information another way but not through the EDR.

the Voodoo is a vibrating monster! he posted the filter came off and the rear of the car slid out from all the oil dumping out.

i read he stated he did the last oil change. so he will have to prove he did it "right" before tossing negligence at FORD. used the right filter and tools, torqued it properly, ect... that will be tough.

glad he survived with only minor injuries.

When any experienced investigator looks at this they will first realize that usually it s more than 1 cause to a major accident.
speed
visibility (or lack of)
road /weather conditions
alcohol
mechanical failure
driver experience
distractions
others actions
I may have missed a few (rusty).
Take your pick. More than 1 for sure.
glad he walked away.

What I really like about this data is that it separates bullshite from fact. The rest of us should not be paying for stupidity and/or reckless behaviour. Now if only auto manufacturers would have a base (or option) install for dash cams with maybe a 1-2 hour loop. There could be a whole lot of idiots pulled off the road, and far less 'he said, she said' with video evidence.

A good example of 'he said, she said' is some idiot backing into you. The idiot will claim s/he was rear ended by you. Or in another scenario, who was it that actually ran the red light.

the weirdest thing to me is that stangmode didn't ask anyone to buy some merch!!! in his post about the crash.

anyone check to see if he's uploaded a new 20 min youtube vid titled YOU WONT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED TO MY FRIENDS CAR!?
might have to wait for the part 2 video for him to show any evidence of oil on the road......so make sure to like and subscribe so you dont miss out
