I'd leave your Base in and alone or use CFTP dampers and recalibrate. This thread might help, specifically post #13...

That’s really good info. My question probably lives better here in this thread. Rather than where I first posted it: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/base-cfhp-cftp-software-hardware-differences.164309/

I wonder how much adding the CFTP springs make a base GT500 car handle like a CFTP (without a GT4 wing)?
I get it the wheels are light and make a big difference. When going from my signature wheels on my GT350R with PS4S back to the carbon wheels with cup2. The handling is night and day. But you feel it with responsiveness and rotating mass reduction. I am looking to characterize just the body control and weight transfer from going to stiffer springs.

on the base GT500 I feel substantial body pitch and roll when doing weight transfer movements.

thanks great! thanks for sharing the video. Makes me excited to try this. Do you have links to the parts you used? The video description links are for cleaning products.

@Epiphany What were your final settled differences in ride height? Did you do anything with the bump stops?

I like to disassemble things.
I didn't think I measured before changing springs. When I'm not up to my ass in snow I'll take a look at the car in the shop and see where it is now.

No need to trim the stops, the change in ride height is relatively small.

The video above talks about the ride height change and shows before and after. About 7/8” it seemed

Post #43 indicated an 1" up front. Just trying to weigh how much more scraping I can endure.

:)

I mentioned that I was near finished but that I wanted to yank the calipers and rotors to get at the hubs. Corrosion appears to be rampant on these cars on untreated steel and bare aluminum surfaces. I have to say, the one thing I really like about this car is the electric parking brake. No more futzing with specialized tools to get the caliper off (like on the GT350) and this car has two rear calipers. There are two bolts per caliper and they come right off.

As above, I'll start with implosion of erosion...

I've never in my life sanded a rotor before. This car changed that.

Back to the hubs. I neutralized the corrosion then swiped them with WD40 and wiped dry.

On to the electric e-brake caliper - way cool. Brembo too. Once the bolts are out and you disconnect a small electrical connection the caliper comes right off. Really nice to not have to deal with hose connections or brake fluid here. This thing is a work of art!

Everything cleaned up, reassembly.

A very slick, and now clean, setup. Props to Ford for the rear caliper arrangement.

On to the next one...

Did you Disconnect the battery before removing parking brake?

Maybe a dumb question, but do the different part numbers for the rear springs indicate anywhere which goes on the right or left?

They do but if you look at the stock spring when you remove it you’ll see exactly which one you need to replace it with. The springs are counter-wound so they’ll only fit the side they are designated for.

FYI do not buy any parts from Lincoln Parts Outlet. These clowns would not sell me CFTP springs because they don’t match my VIN. Even after explaining it to them they still refused so don’t waste your money with them.
