As I forger motorcycle guy, maybe I'm wrong but can we have them Chromed ?
You can if you want them to retain heat, Brakes don't work very well when the fluid is boiling in the clapper.
Adding a chrome oil pan causes the oil to retain more heat. same with chrome valve covers.
So,
"if it won't go, Chrome it", mcgurk
You don't want your brakes to retain heat.
You can chrome it, I would not, unless more show than go.

Yup, many forget about the abs, and bleeding the system.
Someone that knows vehicles will limit how much brake fluid is lost when they do this, but the person into cars but never worked on them, might let the fluid leak out till it stops, etc.
That was my point above. not everyone that owns these cars know brake systems, so for them, painting them without cracking open the system might be the best bet, if you tape up the fluid line after cleaning the parts you plan on painting , and cover everything you don't want paint on. you can do a great job, that a person walking by your ride, and looking at the brakes will never be able to tell that you didn't pull the parts off the car to paint them.
No one at a cars and coffee is climbing under your car to look at the banjo bolt and copper washer to see if you did it on the car or off.
A show car build or a pro being paid good money, sure. but the normal car guy, on the car will work and dare I say it, those that turn their nose up at the idea on here if they walked by your car would never know the difference unless you told them, or you half @$$ed the tape/etc so the paint overspray wasn't everywhere.
Only a complete moron would let the master cylinder run dry. Remove banjo bolt and use a rubber plug in the removed banjo bolt as a stopper. You might lose a tablespoon of fluid if you are clumsy or apt to huff the paint you are planning to use.

I could not care less about what others think about my car. I would remove them because it is much easier to do that way and makes for a better, cleaner job.

Painting them on the car is something shadetree hacks do. They often don't know what they are doing, are scared, or just plain lazy.

I've never been to cars and coffee.

What part of not everyone is mechanically inclined do you not understand. Or interested in making it show car perfect.
You did not wake up one day and know everything about vehicles. get over yourself.

Of course I didn't. I learned from doing. Started with dead-simple tasks...like bleeding the brakes.

If someone is that lacking in mechanical skills, then they should not be jacking up a car and removing the wheels let alone crawling around under said car with a rattle can.

I swapped out the stock dark gray/black Brembos on my 18 PP1 for a set of red Bullett Brembos. Now trying to match the Brembo red color so I can paint the stock rear calipers. Bought a can of RAL3020 traffic red and it is not close to a match. How well does the G2 red match the Brembo red? Any other suggestions for a spray color match?

My bleeding exercise was as much bleeding the system after taking the calipers off as it was a complete fluid flush after 3 years of ownership. My master cylinder was not let go dry but the mechanic wanted to bleed the ABS regardless.
I was not aware that the ABS hydraulic unit is not open during a normal system bleed and therefore retains some of the old fluid until activated. My point is that as good as youtubes are a good instructural tool they don't always give the whole story.
I mentioned earlier that my hard line tube nuts on the rear were wrecked at the time of vehicle assembly at the factory. I encounted this when I was replacing the oem flex lines with aftermarket braided lines which I thought might be a simple upgrade while I had the calipers off to paint. I have since learnt (from these forums for one) that I am not alone in having squashed threads from being over tightened or cross threaded at original assembly.

We've drifted a bit from caliper painting to brake bleeding...

Sorry. My fault. Just pointing out the potential pitfalls of pulling the calipers to paint.

Did mine a few weeks ago with the G2 kit in matching body color. Some one posted that theres in orange fury didn’t have metallic glitter in it, mine does, but it’s barely noticeable.

I have caliper covers for the rear that are painted as well, just haven’t installed them yet. I know I gotta do something about the paint splatter on the fender liner, came from from where a wreck had just happened a few months ago.

Guffaw! It takes a crescent wrench, a rubber stopper, and a foot.
Remind me to never let you touch a car that I or any of my family own
