I think the new C8 Z06 is going to be awesome but it is unlikely I’d swap my C7 Z06 for one. Maybe add one to the stable once the hype simmers down. I gotta have my front engine, manual transmission, long hood Vette 😎

Nice car. I think front engine rear drive cars are more fun, especially on the street where I do 99% of my driving.

Seat slid back all the way, back of the seat forward a little, bottom of seat rocked back for thigh support and I was good to go. Felt like I was tucked in nicely.
At that comfortable position, no way could I wear a helmet. Did I say how nice the interior is? ;-)
Helmet space has been mentioned many times on the C8 board. Don't think GM was thinking many would track the HTC anyway.

now that is god damn beautiful. that's why i said im not a corvette hater, but i cant get into the C8 style wise. the look of the C8 zo6 does help though, i like it better than the standard C8. the C7 and C3 are my favorites.

I like Corvettes too. The biggest reason I don't still have my C5 Z06 and I bought another Mustang instead is because I did't fit well enough with a helmet. I would have done an engine swap if I fit into the car better. The C5 chassis is great, and at 3,100 lbs the car felt a lot better than the heavier modern stuff. Too bad GM couldn't keep the weight down and the Z51 C8 weighs ~500 + lbs more. I'm sure the C8 Z06 will have additional weight over the Z51 due to its higher performance.

I am guessing that the C8 Z06 will weigh ~250 -300 pounds more than the C7 Z06.

Yeah, I miss my C7 Z06. Great long distance touring car.

In addition to the above valid points with respect to "GM having a lot going in its favor" there is no question that the annual Road & Track PCOTY award which launches each November was a significant event for Chevrolet and GM back in November 2015.

Obviously Chevrolet was very disappointed when Ford's 2016 Shelby GT350R beat out their 2016 Corvette Z06 by a wide margin but in doing so the GT350R also beat out 6 other formidable competitors many of which were priced in the 6 figure bracket with the GT350R being the lowest priced vehicle in the 8 car field.

GM and Chevrolet certainly took notice of the lop sided R&T PCOTY win by Ford back in November, 2015 and decided to follow Ford's lead with the launch of their very own FPC engine program which would ultimately end up in their 2023 Z06 Corvette.

Not only did Chevrolet have the luxury of watching the FRAP build over 24,000 Shelby GT350's over the next 5 1/2 years but they also got to observe any potential issues that might develop during that time period whether it be centered around the 5.2 FPC engine or any potential problem issues with the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires or the Carbon Revolution Carbon Fiber wheels.

If Chevrolet was going to follow Ford's lead back in 2015 they certainly confirmed that by staying within much of the same Ford play book which included a larger 5.5L FPC engine, larger 20" and 21" CF wheels and of course larger Michelin Cup 2 tires front and back.

Yes, GM had a lot going in its favor when developing the 2023 Corvette Z06 and that certainly included a great deal of help and forward thinking by the many men and women at Ford that launched the 50th Anniversary Shelby GT350/R program in July of 2015.

Ughhh, you act like Ford invented the FPC or something. If anything Ford showed Chevy what not to do. Not sure how much studying they did of the voodoo considering their FPC is vastly different.

I watched the reveal, amazing vehicle. This is a track vehicle.... HP you race, TQ you drive. This car does not make a lot of TQ relative to it's HP. It's sort of like our Coyotes x 10... :)

It is not going to feel inspiring or fast until you drive the heck out of it... for a street car, won't be a ton of fun, but for a track car... watch out.

Just curious, have you ever ordered a brand new GT350/R, ever bought a used GT350/R, ever sold a GT350/R or ever tracked a GT350/R like many of us members on this forum?

Or are you one of those individuals that has never experience a GT350/R on any level and yet has all of the answers based on absolutely no seat time or ownership experience with these outstanding vehicles other than reading various automotive forum posts or some magazine articles?

There is a great reason that many new 2020 GT350R's are selling for up to $35,000 over MSRP let alone many older GT350R models that are selling well over their original MSRP and that is because many informed automotive enthusiasts unlike yourself know just how good these GT350/R's are.

If you like reading I suggest that you go back and reread the 2016 Road & Track PCOTY articles that centered around the 2016 Shelby GT350R as that might give you a better perspective as to just how special those cars were back in 2015 with these same models only getting better each model year which culminated with the final 2020 production year.

IDK - 2.x 0-60 sounds pretty fun.

Love the C8 platform. ZO6 will be out of my price range. Still love my 350 as much as the day I drove it off of the showroom floor 3+ years ago, and I prefer to row my own gears.

The car has stunning performance and an amazing sound. But you'd have to put a bag over your head until you got in. The rear end is uglier than the front.

In my humble opinion, the C6 was the pinnacle of Corvette exterior styling. I'd love one of those in Z06 trim. The C7 was still "OK" but the squarish Camaro tail lights aren't my cup of tea and I don't like the front end quite as well either. The C8 is just plain ugly.

Interesting how GM decided to do DOHC on this engine instead of their tried and true formula.
