Same reason you need wax / sealant on your car. Point of PPF is to stop paint damage.

It's ok :like: There are those people that drive around in dirty cars that have all the rock chips and paint swirls all over them and never notice. Then there are those that do and I'm one of those:crackup:

Yeah, that stuff drives me nuts. Also I definitely wanted to protect that painted black stripe on my car Which could get easily messed up. To each his own.

Thanks, but that didn't answer the question. of after you have PPF put over your paint, why would you put a ceramic coating over that?

Looks like they are OEM Quickjack truck standoff pads.
Thanks for that, EF3, I didn't seen them when I picked up the QJ. I like the idea of having some air between the vehicle and the jack but, I also like Jaime's recommendation, too. Can't find an image right quick but the short, red aluminum pucks with the pinch weld groove.

Been using those ever since. May have to try out a set of those truck pads but dang they're proud of 'em. Then again, like brakes (or lunar module ascent engines,) they kinda need to work as advertised. :-)
