Gt500 and FordPass question

My wife has car play turned on (rarely uses it though) and uses FordPass to start her car regularly (19 fusion).

This isn’t using FordPass though, this is using voice commands for Siri to start the car. And on that note I still haven’t seen the start your car buttons pop up on my Fordpass yet. It did update my miles and oil life today though which was a surprise.

You can set this up for your truck too. I have friends that use these shortcuts for their F-150 and I use it on the Mach-E.

What I mean is, how do I add all the same shortcuts for my F150?

Premium. I have downloaded everything needed and it looks like I’m good. I’m gonna try the “start the car” tomorrow.

These shortcuts are not specific to the GT500 or any car. I named the shortcuts "Start my GT500" etc. You can follow the instructions but name the shortcut Start my F150 or Start my truck, etc.

Ok, I think I understand what you are saying. Add another set of shortcuts starting with the three required shortcuts, but enter the truck VIN instead. Then just change the phrase to say truck instead of car.

As a side note, but perhaps of interest is the fact that when FordPass and the accompanying modem are free to do as they please you are not the only one that knows what's going on. The car phones home with packets of data. LOTS of data. YOUR data. Not only that but if you read the user agreement you will come to understand that this data becomes the property of Ford as soon as they get it.

This bothers some people. Others say that our phone is collecting similar data and don't really care. Some say that Ford knowing everything down to location, speed, gear selection and rpm is out of line. Others disagree.

It's entirely up to you. Enjoy your Mustang as you choose!

AMC: You are of course, absolutely correct There is/was a VERY long thread about FordPass and eliminating the modem's functionality in the 2020 section, to prevent the data from being sent.

There were a number of methods suggested to break the data chain with Mother Ford. I took the easiest route and pulled the fuse at position 8-9 which apparently only has one load on that circuit, the modem.

I am a fan of technology the vast majority of the time but in this case, I found that what was being sent was simply too intrusive. Others don't mind and that's cool, too. My buddy, the ASM at my store, did NOT like it, however. :-)

Can information still be sent if you phone is connected via Bluetooth for hands free, etc?? Like using your phone as a modem since it's connected.

No. If the telematics system is disabled no data is sent.
