I had my Whipple installed about two months ago and already feeling the itch to make more power. I have a 2020 Mustang GT with complete Stage 2 kit including the Whipple tune. Everything else is completely stock. I'm currently making around 620whp on 91 pump gas. E85 is not readily available in my area. Looking to make 700-750whp soon and will shoot for 900whp next year (maybe?).

Am I better off with a smaller pulley and Lund/PBD tune?
Will I need a full fuel system?
What is the best way to get to 700-750whp reliably?
I want to retain cats if I can due to CA emissions.

lund or pbd will make more power maybe like 670 on 91 with cats, maybe 690 without cats idk. dont even think about trying 900 on 91 octane imo. Stay on 3.875 pulley imo.

There’s a lot of e85 in SoCal so what part are you in? If e85 really is off the table then you have two choices. 1. Higher octane gasoline from additives or race gas. I know that there are some 110 pumps in SoCal so depends on where. 2. The easiest way without e85 is Water/meth injection. you can get almost the same results as e85 about 98%. by using water/meth injection.
One of these options are needed for you to increase boost/power and stay anywhere near safe

No responsible tuner is going to get you to 900 wheel on pump gas (unless you add a nitrous shot or something).

You could add methanol injection and bump it up slightly, but some tuners don't like that either (relying on more failure points).

You could go race gas or torco/boostane/ etc but that will only get you so far.

That’s not a dynojet so be careful comparing numbers. It’s even hard for me to say if it’s performing as it should now.

As others have implied, unlike most other platforms the coyote with a PD blower isn’t airflow limited; it’s knock limited. I wouldn’t even say it’s difficult or unsafe to try for over 700 rwhp on 91 - I would say it’s impossible due to knock limitations. The easiest, cheapest, and safest power is to increase octane.

If you’re dead-set on making power on straight pump gas, as I am, you are a glutton for punishment (both on the forum and in real life). The key to making power is reducing pumping losses and reducing temps. Things like a good cat-back, 170 t-stat (along with appropriate fan settings changes), and GDI changes will net more knock-free power.

Let me rephrase....

What is the best way to 700whp staying on 91?

If converting to e85, what is needed and much would I be looking at cost wise?

I will have my car dyno'd again on a dynojet.

You can probably get away with a boost a pump to 800 rear on E85. Again, depends on your tuner and what they're comfortable with. Some may ask you to upgrade to a return style system.

To get to 700 on 91, others would have to chime in. The blower is certainly capable of it, it's just a matter of how much knock you're going to see. Especially in hot conditions.

You can always

methanol will allow him to go just as far as e85. Tuners don’t like it because they have no control over it. The user must be responsible and understand exactly how it works and what to look for. I have never seen a properly installed and maintained kit fail on its own.

Do you want to go into the motor? If not, cat back, colder tstat, xdi hpfp, tuning….maybe a killer chiller

-or-

Lower compression ratio, raise boost.

Does anyone use the phrase “flamesuit on” anymore?
I’m not 100% but I get the feeling he wants more power with as little work/part as possible. If I’m right I see a boom in his future and more money than he ever had in mind spent

If you have E85 available.

You are crazy not to use it.

Ton more power and it isnsafer for the engine.
