Are you referring to a Jim Owens interview from last summer? I vaguely remember something like that. But if thatās the same video he mentioned some other things that were incorrect so I didnāt put too much stock in the comments.
Rare in that itās only available on the Mach 1. And even more rare because there arenāt enough chips to build all of the cars the markets wants!
If the GT500 2022 color leak is to be believed, my grabber yellow will be crazy rare. Per Zach at Granger it looks like half of all Machās were FJG.

I wouldnāt be surprised if we found later on that there were different versions of some chip containing part that will not be swappable going forward due to chip substitutes being used to accommodate manufacturing.
you're swapping entire assemblies that have specific boards, not individual chips. The functionality will be perfectly compatible at the assembly level.
Correct, but boards have to be redesigned when different chips are employed. Although each chip may have the same task within a circuit, the circuit is designed around the needs of the individual chip chosen. If that change then results in a functional difference in the circuit, then either software or other hardware changes/versions of a particular part will be necessary to the final product, leaving us with 3 different versions of our dash for example. I hope not.
