So are we saying after the release of the 2022 colour pallet that FJG is a one year colour?

We donā€™t know the 2022 colors for the Mach yet, but itā€™s already been understood that FJG is a one year thing

I donā€™t think we can say that yet. I would be fine with your info being correct but I havenā€™t seen that anywhere

Others can find a link to the interview with a Ford spokesperson/designer when he mentions that. Of course even then it could be wrong, but weā€™ll see. My prediction is a two year run with FJG a one year option.

Are you referring to a Jim Owens interview from last summer? I vaguely remember something like that. But if thatā€™s the same video he mentioned some other things that were incorrect so I didnā€™t put too much stock in the comments.
ive suspected that FJG was originally supposed to be 1 year followed up by possibly grabber blue or something else for ā€˜22. I just wonder know if the order backlog and supply chain chaos puts a damper on what to expect going forward. I guess weā€™ll all find out soon enough!

There was this article too - but for what was to be a ā€œrare colorā€, Iā€™ve seen quite a few owners posting their FJG M1ā€™sā€¦. So how rare is it really?

If the GT500 2022 color leak is to be believed, my grabber yellow will be crazy rare. Per Zach at Granger it looks like half of all Machā€™s were FJG.

I think FJG looks cool, but there are a ton of RAV4s driving around in whatever Toyota calls FJG. And Ford is making a killing on a $1250 package that likely costs literally $0 extra on their end.

I should think it's cheaper to paint than any of the 3-part metalics.

Rare in that itā€™s only available on the Mach 1. And even more rare because there arenā€™t enough chips to build all of the cars the markets wants!
I wouldnā€™t be surprised if we found later on that there were different versions of some chip containing part that will not be swappable going forward due to chip substitutes being used to accommodate manufacturing.

you're swapping entire assemblies that have specific boards, not individual chips. The functionality will be perfectly compatible at the assembly level.

Correct, but boards have to be redesigned when different chips are employed. Although each chip may have the same task within a circuit, the circuit is designed around the needs of the individual chip chosen. If that change then results in a functional difference in the circuit, then either software or other hardware changes/versions of a particular part will be necessary to the final product, leaving us with 3 different versions of our dash for example. I hope not.
