Don’t make assumptions.

Not all GT350 owners want to be GT500 owners. Great car which I respect, but I prefer N/A for responsiveness and lack of heat soak, balance of the car, and traditional manual trans.
Fair enough. I was actually talking to the "gentleman" who was attacking me and being dismissive.

If I lumped you in with all those people who were attacking and dismissing I apologize. I truly do not know the correct answer on what would be better. I was truly trying to have a discussion about it but then was hit with all the ridicule, dismissing and attacks and to be honest got defensive and hit back. I love these cars and wanted to have a true discussion of the differences. That is all. AGAIN, I APOLOGIZE IF I INSULTED YOU IN ONE OF MY DEFENSIVE POSTS.
I appreciate that, and fortunately not thin skinned enough to get offended by a debate about cars lol.

Leta look at it this way:

You are sticking with the GT fitted with a supercharger, PP, etc., which would be great for a street car, drag car, and maybe handle some light HPDEs.

Shelby owners are defending their position as they often like to track their cars or highlight the car’s capability on track.

This is where the argument is seemingly lost on both yourself and others in this thread. It’s about what the hypothetical owner would use the car for.

The GT, even setup as you have outlined won’t have the same track capabilities. Conversely, the GT350 might lose to the GT in a roll race or at the strip.

I don’t like minivans but they’re a hell of a lot better at hauling kids around than a Mustang of any sort. Doesn’t make the minivan or the Mustang “bad”, just different use cases.

Which again is bone stock. I see while trolling at work, wasting your employer’s funds, you have time to exhibit ignorance.

Congratz!

A GT Premium with PP and magnaride are bone stock? The sticker would say otherwise. As would countless posts on this forum. Who is exhibiting ignorance now?

No thanks. Working for you would lower my intelligence.

Are you under the assumption that a GT with PP and mag options are not factory installed items?

As you can see below, I built a GT premium w/ PP and Magneride on Ford.com. Again, from the factory, bone stock.

I hate to sound like a contrarian here, but what is so special about a GT350. I get the GT500 for sure. The GT350 gives you a little over 500 HP which for the difference you can add a supercharger, better wheels, and some stripes on a GT Premium with PP and have essentially the same care except more powerful. Is the 5.2 that much better than the 5.0?
The answer is the engine man.

The flat plane crank voodoo engine is unique to the GT350. The 8250 redline provides an experience in an american v8 car that you just can't get anywhere else. There are plenty of video reviews on YT out there but you should really try to drive one and find out for yourself.

The sounds and crackles it makes will make you smile all day long.

The carbon fiber wheels on the R are special. The car just feels so light on it's feet. And it being the first production car ever to have carbon wheels just makes it even more special.
The name does not make the car. It's the other way around. The GT350 and R are highly regarded as great sports cars in the car community because they've earned it, not because it says Shelby on it.

It's all about the experience and what your into. If you just want to go fast in a straight line and have a lot of bang for your buck, then modifying a GT seems like a great way to go. But no amount of mods will make a GT sound and feel like a voodoo engine riding on carbon fiber wheels.

I could go on and on about the Tremec gearbox, which is fantastic, among other things, but it all comes down to the engine.

The GT350R is a rare and special car. They have already started appreciating in value. The last two sold at auction went for 100k and 110k.

You’re wasting your time... this cat is pushing superchargers. All of this ignorant conjecture has nothing to do with the OP’s original intent of the post, hence a troll is about us.

I know they are factory installed. When you say bone stock, you are talking about a base model Mustang GT, with basically no options at all. I may even call a 301 package bone stock since very little is added there. When you start adding suspension components, larger wheels and tires, exhaust, performance upgrades etc at the factory it is no longer in my mind bone stock or base model. Maybe my wording is off, but that is my impression of what bone stock is.

No. Incorrect. Bone stock = no aftermarket additions or tuner cars. If it leaves the factory that way, it’s stock buddy.

You have an altered perception of reality, which most likely you have modified to suit your needs. Good luck. No need to derail this any further than it has been.

I didnt interject that term bone stock. I was and am still talking about Premium with pp and magnaride. But you go ahead with you holier than though dismissal because you are obviously smarter than anyone else and command so much respect in the world. My suspicion of you is that you are probably not that smart or accomplished and think that your miniscule knowledge of cars gives you some credibility because you have failed at life. Good luck to you.

No problem.

I hope you drive one and experience it for yourself.

I can't tell you how many times I've hammered the throttle on an open road and heard that screaming FPC voodoo engine just going nuts..... only to look down and see I'm at 7k RPM and still have 1250 left to go. It's insane man. Most of the time when I'm taking my R out for a drive I never leave 2nd/3rd gear.

Oh, and the rev matching downshifts are god like.
