I found a carbon fiber track pack for sale with 800 miles on it, personal car of the dealership owner. They are currently at 10 k over MSRP.

I went to see the car today it was filthy dirty which I find kind of irritating at this price point, especially when they knew I was coming to look at it.

I did notice there was some damage to the rear passenger side carbon fiber wheel . It looks like it had been curbed. I personally think this would drive me nuts if I got the car. What do you guys think about this damage, am I overreacting?

They were acting like this car was one-of-a-kind never to be seen again super limited halo car.

I would not accept a car with damage like that.

buy the car and sell the wheel to me. That will finish off my second set.

Seriously, tell them that it is damaged and you want a new wheel. Either try to keep the old wheel and sell it to me or have them get a hold of me. I need the wheel.

There not going to put a new wheel on, hell thats their BS ADM right there, if anything they MIGHT have it repaired considering its surface damage. and 10K over MSRP for a USED car, you have no idea how they drove it, but the tires can tell you to a point what they did with the car, and if its as dirty as you say, I'd knock them off their high horse to MSRP. But thats me.

But if you do buy it, Give Tom the wheel, and I'll consider buying the wing for a fair price :D

If you're seriously looking to buy it, see if you can use the damaged wheel to lower the price. Personally, I would not do 10K over for a used car with a damaged carbon wheel. At that price point, I'd keep searching for a new one.

LOL do you need a wheel Tom? I agree I don’t wanna buy it with the wheel damage especially not at 10k over with 800 miles. I’m gonna keep looking.

I’m starting to lean back towards Rapid Red CFTP with the painted black stripe.

actually, I have already bought two wheels from dealerships that have had the same issue happen. Anyone who buys a car at that kind of money should not accept a defect like that.

I bought a front for 500 with a tire and another front for 2k. So that is neither here nor there. You should not buy the car unless they replace the wheel or knock at least 5k off the price.

Then thats a definite no go. As a matter of fact, that is a big deal if the ceramic is delaminating

I would have a tough time buying a car like that. I ended up driving my GT350R in the winter and it snowed while I was at work. I raced home and tried to get up the mountain but ended up having to drive backwards back down in the on coming traffic lane. Ended up scrapping both passenger side wheels quite badly. Funny story as my brother was in his Mini GP watching the whole thing.

Sucked about the wheels though. I never found someone to fix them even with the black 'gel' coating on the 350r wheels

While we are on the topic of wheels, anyone know if it is possible to paint the god awful white inner barrel coating black or charcoal to more closely match the CF wheel ?

Walk away. With the car in the condition it was in whether you were coming or not indicates to me that they did not bestow any love upon it and they do not care for your business.
