I’m hoping on getting some help.
I have a 15’ Mustang GT Premium with rear parking sensors. I installed aftermarket amps and now every time I go in reverse the beeping coming from the speakers is extremely loud.
I would like to disable them in forscan but haven’t been able to find which code it is along with knowing what to change it to. If anyone can’t help it would be great. Thank you.

I was aware that that could be an issue, when I was doing my stereo install, so I used an AmpPro fd21 interface. I can actually control how loud the rea parking sensors are with it.

Mine is loader than crap when in reverse. My dealer said their is no way to turn the volume down or off. Extremely annoying.

Damn, at my age I'd be safer disabling the airbags than the driving nanny gadgets.

I'm confused. My car doesn't beep when backing up.

It only beeps if you have the proximity radar sensors, the little circles in the back bumper. And even then they only beep when you get close to stuff. Not all cars have the sensors either, theres a premium bumper and a regular one. At least until MY2020 where the premium bumper is standard.

My car let's me turn it off, not sure about older years

Oh, yeah, if I'm about to hit something it beeps, but not that loud. I have the Pac-Audio installed and I turned those beeps all the way down.

I was hoping that something in forscan would allow you to change a code so that way the sound would be disabled but keep the camera working. I used 3 line out converters to connect the equalizer and a 4 channel amp. And a sub amp but that runs straight to the equalizer. So now I’m getting the beeping out of the rear and front speakers because the equalizer has only 1 line for main input and so it transmits it out to the front and rear on the outputs.

For the OP, if you don’t want to hear them and it’s not going to serve any purpose being turned down or disabled by Forscan, why not just unplug the connectors at the bump cover?

You can send those back up beeps to the instrument panel speaker. But all warning chimes will also go to this speaker too. In the following code change the 4 to a 0 (zero). Try it. If you don't like it, change it back.

IPC module 720-01-01 xxxx xxx4 xxxx Sound Location for Vehicle Chimes:

4 (Forwarded to ACM / Vehicle Speakers - Default)
0 (IPC Internal Speaker Only)

Was going to recommend this. It isn't perfect though, the rest of the chimes sound pretty crappy through that tiny speaker, but the reverse beeps are definitely quieter.

I think you have to take off the bumper cover to get to the plugs.
I don’t really feel like doing that. Forscan is a bit easier.

That’s great, I don’t mind that the chimes only come from the instrument panel. Because I can still hear a warning for just in case situations. I’m going to try it out tomorrow. Thanks.
